This is the worst aspect of the new expansion by far, making it already overwhelmingly more questionable than any part of bfa, anyone can hit level 50 or even max level in one session and it requires absolutely no effort.
It almost feels trivial to require a subscription for this, it seems like the game is going in a free to play game with microtransactions.
This feels extremely Mobile game-esque, all those years of expansions are gone and now you just pick one, never having to engage in the other 13 years of content, people who start playing one day could hit max level in the same day.
You develop absolutely no attachment to your character in 6 hours, its like there’s no point in having a main anymore, because anyone can have that in a day or so. Never again will you spend days with your character developing a love for them and appreciating zones, also hello bye bye a huge chunk of RP servers.

they should just keep heirlooms and make it longer
With heirlooms:6h
Without:18
And it would be just fine, this way ppl who want to lvl slower have that option,or add npc who could cut xp gain same as npc who can stop it

Sadly this game is now heavily focused on max level content and the lower level content is now treated like a stepping stone to get there. Everything worth doing is focused only on the new max level content and everything in previous expansions has become a memory.
I do love to enjoy the atmosphere of the games I play rather than just focusing on levelling quickly, but sadly it is difficult to do in WoW as now even without trying you can out level the zones you are questing or exploring in very quickly.
my only advice is to try to enjoy the atmosphere and not care about what it does for you, go roleplay somewhere and enjoy yourself. Longer levelling that you enjoy will always be better than quick levelling you don’t.
This won’t happen in Shadowlands, the entire world scales with your level up until level 50.

Just because you don’t HAVE to doesn’t mean there arn’t people that want to.
Leveling and how long it takes has been an issue with players since the beginning, most -not all- focus on end-game only but there are still plenty that enjoy leveling.
Just because you’re done with gaining levels doesn’t mean you have to stop doing quests though. I don’t really see this as a bad thing, and I personally enjoy the leveling aspect quite a bit.
That being said, 6 hours does feel a bit on the short side.

This is by far my favorite change in Shadowlands.

Where did you see it takes 6 hours?

I really think at this point I will reside in an RP realm and live out the last few years of Wow, many peoples favourite part of the game is now just that, a stepping stone.
This is so incredibly wrong at least in my personal experience. I have alternate characters who have more stories written about them by my hand than they have levels.

They do, you don’t need to lie because you disagree.

I think this is the best level squich to date - Tyvm blizzard <3
If everything is going to be focused on endgame - then turbo leveing is the way to go

Yeah, thats not entirely true. Shorter levelling but with the way you use Chromie time you can actually experience so much more than the current system.
Id much rather level several alts through expacs and short of the “cata” choice which will take several alts all the others are able to be fully experienced with one toon.
Much better than doing 2 and a half zones in “classic” 1(ish)zone in tbc or wotlk, so on and so forth as it is at the moment.

Because jumping across timelines from Cataclysm content to Burning Crusade times is sooo immersive…

do you not realise most people who play don’t consistently raid and levelling and experiencing zones is a huge love and part of why thousands play the game??
Honestly the lvling speed change is the best change in a long time.
Nobody asked for it bar the classic people who also got their classic and can play that if they want to spend days on getting to max.
There’s no incentive to keep slow lvling or low lvl characters when all content is oriented at max lvl.

Game is at max lvl , the lvl-ing process is left to rot .
If they change lvl-ing and they revamp the way things work i might agree with you .
Still to re-haul all the expansion would take tremendous amount of resources , my guess is they went for the easy path .

I’m sorry, I must have missed the vote where you stood as a candidate as the spokesperson for the whole player base.
It’s the attitude of players like yourself and those that have no regard for the lore or the story, indeed those that don’t even want to play an RPG but just want to get to endgame and then complain about lack of content because they’ve shortcut the whole of the levelling process that’s led to Blizzard totally trivialising the game and condensing it down to one (badly developed by the sounds of it) expansion with BFA as a sort of speed levelling intro.
I fully agree with the sentiments of the OP and I feel that the current dev team don’t fully understand what a RPG is.

If your favorite part about WoW is leveling/questing, than there’s nothing stopping you from locking your XP gain and doing quests in old zones.
