During the original release of Mists of Pandaria, the Italian localization was introduced and fully supported. I’m curious why it hasn’t been included in the Classic version of MoP. Is there any official reason for its absence?
Agree, where is my neapolitan troll at?
Tengo bisogno di chiù mana…
Maybe, too lazy to upload something that already exists ?
Well the closest to official answer we have is an issue on mop-classic bugs github. In short there some things that got changed and they currently have no resources available to do that as i understand it
As indicated in the bug tracker on GitHub (which is the only official note), the Classic version will not be localized in Italian because new lines have been added and some pre-existing ones have been modified. Considering that changes will also be made to future expansions, as has been done since Wrath (with the protocols and now the Celestials), it can be said that Classic will not support Italian for each expansion.
So they’re willing to discard thousands of hours of work from the dedicated team that translated and dubbed the game, all because of a few added vendors, some new Gamma/Alpha/Beta related buff descriptions, and items like the Chronoboon? That feels extremely disrespectful to the people who poured their effort into bringing the game to Italian players. More than anything, it comes across as a clear cost-cutting decision rather than a technical limitation.
I really hope this doesn’t just get swept under the rug.
I suppose that the Italian community is already very small in Retail (there is no longer Italian support for tickets) and even smaller in Classic, so it is not worth the expense and effort to add Italian to the game, even though it already exists. Given the justification, I am certain that Italian will not be added in any future expansions.
The cost of adding an already created asset is actually 0.
It cost more to remove an already working asset from an environment
But no point in arguing here
