Item Comparison Tooltip - Armor Value Missing?

When I compare an item in my bags vs the item I have equipped (Shift + Hover over item), the Item Comparison tooltip comes up showing all stat differences between the two items. That is all stats except Armor value.

I don’t know if this is an oversight or a deliberate decision, but I currently have to use another addon (ExtraTooltip), which duplicates the entire default UI comparison, but also includes armor differences.

As a tank, Armor is a pretty significant stat and should be in the default comparison IMO.

Its easy to compare armor though, you look at the items and see even at a glance while holding down shift if a have a higher armor number than b.

Ok, as it’s so easy to compare stats, let’s just remove the comparison tooltip altogether. /s

That’s not the point. Armor is as valid a stat as Intellect, Attack Power or Haste and should be included in the default comparison.

If you need to have the system tell you that 2089 is 198 more than 1891 and you dont just can see that its kind of close to 200 more by a glance when 200 extra armor means something like 0.01 more dmg mitigated then im sorry for you but you dont know what stats to actually value more, the important stats in the comparison are for a tank stam, the mitigation stats, hit and expertise armor is something you will have enough of no matter what if you gear in even a semi decent way.

Whether the amount of armor is significant or not is not my argument.

Whether I can do basic arithmetic or not is not my argument.

What stats I value as a tank is not my argument.

The argument is that the in-built comparison tooltip should show every stat difference between two items.

I would rather have them remove some stats like int from a warriors comparison, a dump stat is a dump stat, no need to actually se them.

My only point was that having armor show up on the comparison would be rather useless

My god man always the most useless responses to bug reports and request threads.
Some people just cant keep their mouth shut.

It’s probably deliberate for Wotlk Classic but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an oversight during original WOTLK

How was this in OG Wrath?

People from pservers could figure out easily I guess but it would be crazy memory skills if someone could remember such a thing from actual WOTLK

A screenshot sometimes works miracles  Pservers asre not accurate, afaik.

KK Found one.

Armor was NOT a part of it in OG Wrath

Why not add Armor, it only interest tank but if mages see the dps of their staffs…

I’d like personnaly if it told about Armor, crit hast or doge’s in % instead of score that are just written in it

Maybe some add-on do it

For sure but something as small as the comparison tooltip is likely to be the same

I use Little Buster for this.

Thanks mate

Hopefully someday people will understand than a tank is not only an hp pool but also an avoidance and Armor so they don’t deplete the healer’s manapoolbor, or become basically unhealable by some less focused healer’s class

(I once had to do a full stamina re-gem and put on PvP stuff to take my bear in ToC, it went to hell mid raid but that wasn’t my problem anymore, the healing druid said I didn’t cap defense, as a druid I was disappointed. All that to say that you shouldn’t trust others to know what you need)

I’ve just noticed it also doesn’t show Shield Block Value differences. It shows Block Rating, but not Block Value.
