Item Recovery following unusual circumstances. WoW Retail

Ticket Number: EU92872852
So, following a few messages with support, I’ve been told to come to the forums to discuss my issue, with hopes that a developer might actually be able to solve my problem. As someone who has studied Game Development and know a little bit about generating items, I thought this would be a straight forward fix.

The issue being, I took an item from the Vault, this item had +Leech which is considered Best in Slot for tanks. I rushed over to the catalyst to upgrade this piece into a tier set piece. Upon completing this action the Leech disappeared from the item. Devastated, I quickly logged out of the game and created a ticket. At this point, I haven’t equipped the item, over even moved it from the slot it appeared in.

After 3 submissions to support they have claimed " item upgrades from the catalyst system can’t be undone by support.". They speak about the item having ‘Innate stats’ and mentioned normal items have ‘Tertiary stats’ which adds these bonuses like Leech to items. These Innate stats apparently do not carry over the same way as the regular Tertiary stats, which I had no idea about, not to mention no warnings from the Revival Catalyst, apart from ‘Upgrading will caused this item to become soulbound’, no mention of losing stats or the item degrading.

I’ve begged and pleaded with support staff, offered in game gold or even real life money to resolve this issue, I’m desperate. This is a best in slot piece and would really help me with pushing my mythic+ progression. Can’t such a simple mistake be reverted or manually undone. Please say someone with a higher power can intervene and resolve this.

I eagerly await your response, WoW gods.

Looks like you already have your answer, the GMs do not read the forums and neither do the Devs.

All you can do is ask for the ticket to be escalated.

They tell you to post on the forums to discuss it with other players, not the GM team or anyone else.

I have asked again in the ticket, I don’t think the support staff actually care or can relate though, the replies seem so ‘automated’ and heartless…

Lol. “We strongly advise you to post a suggestion to that end in the forums” is the polite way for a GM who has done everything in his power to help a customer to say “go and see elsewhere if tou can find me cause there is no chance in the world that you will get satisfaction and your repeated requests are just wasting your time and mine to no avail”

Also as for the Blizzard staff, while your request may or may not be legitimate, if an employee of any company gets the instruction “if a customer asks for X in Y situation you are to politely say no” no amount of good heart or empathy on their side can allow them to say yes.

Hey Blindthot,

I’m sorry to hear about this, and while I appreciate there is no specific warning, you do get a preview of the item you’re creating which would have let you know about this.

If you didn’t check the resulting item there, it honestly seems unlikely you would have heeded any other popup or warning in addition to what’s already there.

You can also read more about this here:

Ultimately the answer you’ve received is correct though, and there is no option to undo this. As for being directed to the forums, it would have been in order to make a suggestion that this should be undoable in the game, which isn’t something for the Customer Support section, but instead you might want to try General Discussion here.

I’m 100% certain you are talking specifically about the item Galakrond’s Voracious Hide. This item rolls with the leech implicit 100% of the time and can even roll double leech if you are lucky. If you catalyst this item, you lose the guaranteed implicit and keep bonus implicits.
