It's been 2 years and the Newcomer chat channel Abuse spammer is still there no matter how much we report?

How is this guy still around ?

For 3 years i have seen this player spamming newcomer chat and for 2 years as a Guide i have been reporting this player as well as countless others reporting them.

How can 1 random player be still around after all this time ?

But casual harry gets perma banned due to someone spamming mass reports ?

Perma ban this player already

He can just keep creating accounts. There isn’t really much they can do.

something i found on ffxiv system:

Mentors are veteran players who chose to offer their time and experience to help guide new adventurers. To facilitate their assistance, mentors will gain access to a [special chat channel] with new players.

As a mentor, you are expected to actively perform the following:

  1. Provide gameplay advice for new adventurers and other players.
  2. Be an exemplar for player etiquette.
  3. Invite new adventurers to the [Novice Network] and answer their queries in the chat channel.

※Inappropriate mentor behavior may be reported.

and this one is intresting:

Removing Players from the Novice Network

In cases of spamming or harassment, a mentor can kick another mentor or a new adventurer from the Novice Network channel. Kicked mentors cannot return for three hours, and kicked new adventurers for thirty minutes. Please be advised that, in doing so, your name, the name of the player being kicked, and the reason will be displayed to everyone on the channel.

  • Customer support will be notified when a player is removed from the Novice Network. If your decision to kick a player from the channel was found to be inappropriate then you may face punishment.
  • Mentor privileges may be revoked for repeated infractions.

i was a victim of a false mass report

multibox lords went mad on me after i wanted to complete BEE world quest and ended up tagging mobs. 1 week later and 4 apeals cause some indian bot gpt denied me every time

this is just pathetic such guy can exist unpunished

He’s not unpunished tho.

Can be pretty much circumvented. Hardware bit harder/takes more time, but can be worked around.

Said spammer is also in the other regions mhm.

Reminds me of my silver crown days at Runescape, but alas. Despite the various accusations of MVP’s having moderation powers (that we don’t have).

And that Blizzard will not give to regular players it is extremely unlikely they’d give even simplified ones like these out.

Can all be faked. Even if they did put in real details, as long as the perpetrator is in a country with low or no justice systems then they won’t be touched either with a civil case.

Then perma bans are of no consequence ?

Surely theres a way to ban his IP completely …

Blizz also clearly would have had his original details before the first ban, so address/country name email …

Not hard to find out who he/she is and put a stop to it.

The consquence of a perma ban is that you lose the account you put all your time and energy into.

If you make a throw away account over you will not be using one email address, you may even disguise your location using a vpn etc. A person making a free trial account with a different email every time isn’t going to care if that account gets a temp or perma ban.

You have to question the sanity of someone who will go to these lengths. If I am not interested in WoW or I don’t like a direction they’ve taken, I simply stop playing.

I even suspect they may have paid for or is botting the whole process since they don’t reply to questions. Atleast they don’t whenever I’m in the Newcomers channel.

that same ip could be dynamic so it will be shared with others .that is no solution at all

it could be a free trial account made up with phony details .you dont need paid sub to talk in newcomer chat

Don’t let trial accounts post in chats?

I agree on the irony that casual players getting their accounts permad for language over reports for playing soloqs or such new additions where people collect easily multiple reports from saying just about anything. Then there is some individual who spams newcomer chat from free trial accounts for 3 years you say? But I guess if he keeps making new accounts then its not entirely the same and its what those people from pvp being actioned also have done since df, they make new account and add it to their existing bnet account and keep all mounts and so on.

Could be working solution for it tho defeats the purpose of newcomer chat. Idk my opinion is biased as I buy expansions and pay sub to play them so I dont much care if some people wouldnt have rights to use some aspects of the game without investing anything in it. I guess it comes down to what does the most harm.

Seems a bit harsh to punish anyone using a free trial to try the game because of one individual.

Not just one individual. Solves bot spams in general. Also keep in mind that without an authenticator you are very limited in communicating anyway, also a trial character can only reach level 20, what is there to ask for what is like a 30 min leveling experience.

It does

But this remains a problem regardless, as someone stated above they are probably using a bot

The question remains

Who is this random spamming newcomer chat

A scorned lover perhaps ? to do this everyday takes dedication

Maybe his main account was perma banned and this is how he vents

I have answered several questions in newcomer from players asking during their trial what their options are if they want to level higher. Newcomer is very relevant.

Isnt there already some limitations in place related trials? I dont know but remember seeing people spoke of it in forum. Maybe they also should have limited use for chat. I mean people cant post on forum either without paying sub so why is there free trials that spam some chat in game I dont get it.

Does this really need answering? I mean the trial character instructions are pretty clear “No sub=no level 21”.
