Hi! For a long time I have not been able to find “my place” in WoW, mainly due to the fact that every class is quickly boring me. I can’t find a class that would interest me for longer. I have a feeling that every class is missing something, that playing them is all about banging buttons and waiting for procs to start banging buttons again. I don’t feel in control of my class or enjoy playing them. I have a feeling that each is missing something. Oddly enough, I do not experience such a problem playing classic WoW and really enjoy playing classes. I don’t know… I have a bit of an impression that over the years there have been efforts to make these classes more dynamic and at the moment they are in a strange state, something between the old style of gameplay and the new, faster one. I’m really looking forward to a new expansion and I really want to play it… but I don’t know how when I get less and less fun playing classes in WoW. What’s your opinion on this matter? Do you feel like me or do you have the opposite opinion and you enjoy playstyle of retail classes? I wanna know, maybe I just need a break from the game?
Not having fun while playing really defeats the purpose so that’s not good, can’t say if it’s you or not but a little break could be just what you need.
I have several mmorpgs i play and switch between.
I would recommend you try out ff14, eso, LOTR, Everquest, Guildwars 2 etc to get something new and exiting.
Personally I play ff14 in the weekends and enjoy that alot.
Everquest is an older game, more slow paced with more focus on the sociale aspect.
You can solo but it’s slower than WoW. I enjoy playing both Everquest 1 and 2 .
Sounds to me that you rather like action-based combat systems that are more interactive than just classic MMO combat systems.
Maybe you would be more happy with Elder Scrolls Online’s combat system, which is one of the most interactive ones I know.
Have you considered the possibility that you’ve just gone off the game
Because this is really not true for all specs.
I really wanted to like FFXIV, but at the very moment I saw my character run like the typical anime girl archetype… Ugh… What a turn off.
i feel like they are all builder spenders with no real defining traits at this point
i’ll never forgive what they did to shadow from bfa to sl purely because of balance issues
Just you.
I like pretty much every class I play more now in SL except paladins and that’s because of holy power.
The storylinie is amazing
But yeah it’s a bit anime
What about guildwars 2 or lord of the rings online
Try demon lock or arcane mage
I don’t understand people saying ‘modern wow classes suck’, I really don’t. Truth is, the classes we have now are way more advanced and dynamic than first 8 years of wow were, so I don’t really see any issues.
I feel it’s a you issue more than anything else.
And they all feel very similar in their mechanics.
Frostbolt spam did feel fun indeed!
dunno. i tried FFXIV but after some time i found it boring. Eso is good. GW and SWTOR probably the best ones.
BUT in the end i prefer do the daily for midsummer than play other MMORPG…
I enjoy playing BM Hunter more than anything. I never grow bored of it.
Having 2 pets since Legion is awesome to me. It makes the spec feel even more like a ‘master of beasts’. I wish more shots would be ‘beast summons’ or ‘beast command/attacks’, but hey… I’ll work with what I’ve got.
I’m looking forward to the new talent trees in DF to experiment a bit.
One thing I would like back though is the ability to spec your pets.
Could be good. I myself will be taking a break until the DF pre-patch hits.
Not because I don’t like my class of course, but because of the lack of worthwhile content for a player like myself in S4.
Make a guy, I have a Lalafell and he’s an absolute monster.
I think it depends if you are playing a class you are good at.
Usually fun comes when you are good at something.
I found my class and i test legendaries, stats, items, talents abilities and i see the results. So far i am not bored with that class.
Maybe try healing. Those specs are all very different and you are not performing some kind of rotation.
Thanks for all your replies and advices! Definetly it’s something about me, You seems enjoy playing your classes
Some of you mentioned other mmos - I started playing GW2 some time ago and it’s great game, with lovely lore and beautifull world. Now I think that it may be the cause with my WoW class issue - in GW2 combat is more arcade, more action-like and maybe its reason why WoW classes seems strange to me now
For more MMO’s I have no time for trying at now I also played TESO and it’s great game but three MMO at once is far to much, especially I also playing in single player games.
Maybe I really need a little break Anyway It’s nice to read your opinions and see how you enjoy game, really inspiring
