Greetings Fellow gamers, I and a lot of the rest of you has probably been sitting checking the forum and the game page for updates regarding the current server situation.
And to be honest it is really annoying that I can’t play right now, but I think I would feel a whole lot better if Blizzard was open about maybe an estimate, but at least if nothing else tell us what is going on?
the whole " well it’s an emergency maintenance so who knows when we will be back" is just ridiculous
I sincerely do wonder WHAT is so broken tho.
The mythic+ bug that got abused?
Cross-realm trading?
Scholo/Naxx items?
Ghost in the machine?
Hamster on strike?
Well that is fair and all but then at least play with open cards regarding what is going on, what is the emergency that is taking this long to fix and why.
details that are both known and would make sense to most players are sparse at the moment
but rather something such as “We’ve been having issues on multiple ends such as world servers, instance servers, cross realm gold trading and other things. I don’t know any specifics because I’m just the customer support person who makes minimum wage. We don’t have an ETA yet.”
It’s not the ETA that people are asking for, it’s anything.
I never said they HAVE to give an estimate, but I would like them to share a little information regarding the downtown every once in a while. tell us what the big bug is that is taking so long.
Incidents do happen, but solving an issue on production shouldn’t take this much time unless its hardware related. Giving no info and ETA is really unprofissional, and I honestly don’t know what takes them this long unless this is getting fixed by juniors or trainees who never ever, deployed anything to prod (or like I said its hardware related but I honestly doubt that).
I’m not sure what difference it makes. However a visit to CS would have shown you that people couldn’t log in or play the game. Starting with Kalimdor and spreading elsewhere.
Servers are slowly coming back up and hopefully will stay working this time.
They don’t give ETAs so we don’t get waves of people coming back over and posting more and more unreasonable responses to not being able to play the game.
They were sensible. It wasn’t a quick fix so they said they are working on it. They initally thought it could be resolved within an hour but clearly it was a far bigger Gremlin and it wasn’t going down easy.
