My last weekend in the USAā¦
I went round all my favorite fast food joints.
What a weekend.
Zaxbyāsā¦ Chic-filaā¦ Popeyesā¦ Wendyāsā¦ Whataburgerā¦ KFCā¦ and dinner at Longhorn and Outback. Iāll be working out a week to burn all that off but it was worth it!

Iāve come to say goodbye againā¦
Because Monday she did come creepingā¦
She cared not that I was sleepingā¦
And the vision she planted in my brainā¦
a new week beginsā¦
Within the endā¦ of the Weekendā¦
In the Monday morning I woke aloneā¦
Work voicemail messages on my phoneā¦
Asking if I would work overtimeā¦
not caring I had neither patience nor time
when my mouth was stabbed by the icy water and the pasteā¦
my breath was badā¦
And reminded meā¦ of the Weekendā¦
and in the bathroom I stood stillā¦
Should I call in saying Iām illā¦
but I had used that excuse beforeā¦
I had pretended that my back was soreā¦
But now I find that my excuses donāt hold out much more
My gaze to the floorā¦
I remember stillā¦ The Weekendā¦
Work is ringing me once againā¦
The ringing beats on my brainā¦
Hear my words that you may learn wisdomā¦
The Weekend she brings more than freedomā¦
But my words may never reach the worldā¦
And you will missā¦
The Weekendā¦
And I fell to my knees and cried aloudā¦
The new week is already soiled and fouledā¦
By the work they need to get paidā¦
And the timeclock blared out itās warningā¦
I was ten minutes late this Monday morningā¦
And the manager said that my record of time was getting really really badā¦
But I care notā¦
I only live forā¦ The Weekendā¦

Yeah but tonight I get to chainsword space pirates in half and shoot mutants in the head. Well, that and/or die of decompression in space. The GM is not averse to killing characters who make poor choices.
I have a strong suspicion this nightās session may be my characterās swan song if he canāt find a space suit on this shipā¦

Oh Gods above and below, I have no Tabletop online games till Monday, you know what this means? Unless Girlface wants an online chess game, I now have three entire nights where I have no excuse -not- to write.
This can, I am sure, only end well, and not with me throwing empty cans of lager at the mirror opposite my writing desk howling āStop mocking me!ā whilst wearing just a pair of boxer shorts, and quite possibly the blood of my enemies as warpaint.
