It's Versatility

For those confused on why ‘people can do Guardian in just greens?!’ or ‘I only used -sooome- SL gear, and some TW gear’ or ‘I only used a feeeew gems!’ or ‘pff it’s EaSY all I did was have PvP gear on!’

It’s Vers.

For example, the guy who ‘did it in only greens’ had 26% Versatility.
I have 13% on my SL geared druid.

Wipe at 4 - 10%, without fail, 3 stacks of Annihilation, with Survival Instincts up, every time. Because not only can I not kill him faster, but my Frenized Reg is no where NEAR as strong as someone with 13% more Vers than me.

Thus if they wanna fix it, they need to reduce Kruul’s HP by only a tiny percentage more, if you’re going off pure SL gear and NOTHING else (not even 1 ‘special’ trinket or consumable).

His crit is also at 20%, mine is at 10%

Why don’t you do it in vers gear too then?

Because I don’t have the time to farm tons of old content for a current-content-overtuned thing, nor farm PvP gear for a PvE-solo-challenge, nor spent thousands upon thousands of gold because people have noticed it’s a way of scumming the Tower and so are making gold out of it. All to make something overtuned, ‘hard but doable’. Instead of just fixing it.

Not alone on this point neither.

It’s not about it being hard, it’s about having to farm weird and specific accidentally-overpowered-old-items / gems / enchants to complete it. That isn’t skill, it’s cheesing.

Unless you’re going to tell me you’re an amazing PvPer because you use an enchant from TBC plus a specific trinket from WoD and two pots from Mists combined to 1-shot players, makes you a pro PvPer, or?

Or using items that you shouldn’t have used to cheese The Lich King on Mythic (25-heroic) mode which allowed them to down and kill him with ease? Pro raiders? Or banned-exploiters. It was the latter.

Didn’t have to do that when I did it in Legion. Don’t have to now - when it’s fixed.

Your gear is more than fine to beat the challenge in it’s current state, you don’t NEED to farm any old gear and it’s not Versatility holding you back.

If you need couple of easy way to increase your output tho:

  • Get rid of 2x Defensive trinket, like for real? It’s a super tight dps check in P2 and you play something that heal you and the scale, what? Learn to manage orbs after annhilate to refill yourself up and don’t waste 2x high damage slot for defensive.

If you also wanna squeeze more of it looking for old things, 2 things that basically require zero time to acquire are:

  • Unbrindled Fury, which you can buy at AH and they don’t cost that much. You keep them for good tries anyway so you won’t need many of those and they do not require any farm.

  • Artifact from Legion, for 2 X enchant 2 x oil-.ò

  • First boss of EN it’s literally a 5 min investment that can net you a good trinket.

Doing what i listed is probably not even half an hour investment.

  • The gear I’m wearing isn’t used in the MT.

  • Unbrindled Fury is 500 gold a pot.

  • Claiming ‘you don’t need gear’ while also pointing out ‘use two legendries for double enchants and double the oil ;)!’

Thanks for perfectly proving everyone’s point though.

People don’t want to use specific, odd things to do it.
They just want to do it and be challenged.

It’s what a vast amount of the complaints are centered around, and, clearly valid, because Blizz already began nerfing enchants, gems, gear, etc… If they didn’t think it was an issue, they wouldn’t have done it

You, like so many others need to stop hiding behind all these excuses.
The MT is up for an entire month, surely you can prepare your character.

You don’t even need to. I did the guardian one in full SL gear with consumes. Took me 100pulls but definitely doable.

The thousands of people, people who’ve completed it before, when it was easier, are incorrect? Imagine thinking thousands of people with the same concern is an ‘excuse worth ignoring’. People think the game is bad now, imagine if no one ever listened to anyone. x’D

Weird then how they started hard nerfing enchants, gems, gear, removing exploits, reducing HP, changing how the spell is cast then going back on it because they made it even harder - almost as if they don’t know what they’re doing.

Nice of you to use a brand new character of the forums to reply though. Really shows your confidence.

700-1k each btw

I’m sure. Curiously, it did seem to take you quite a while in Legion to do it. Over a year in fact… Where it was a lot easier for most people than currently.

The ontopic question is; did you use versa-gear (like for example pvp-gear)?

It took him a YEAR back in Legion, at that point, the MT was a cake-walk for anyone.
“Stop hiding behind all these excuses” they say, while waiting for the MT to be so behind in the current content he could finally do it.

Then he posted saying ‘pff it’s easy, noobs’ on an alt with no previous comments to hide his mains.

I somehow don’t think anything he says is worth it, or truthful.

It doesn’t mean that because thousands of people are complaining that they’re right.
Why even compare it to the Legion one? It’s a different expansion? I played legion at the very end so it was easier because I overgeared it. I had a lot more fun doing it now.

They changed the MT based on the data they received and take care of the outliers like the crusader enchant.

Are some easier than others yes, is it perfect, no. Is there room for improvement sure.

I really post on the forums so this isn’t a fresh character, has nothing to do with ‘confidence’ lol

This is my main. I just don’t post on the forums haha.
I never said ‘it’s easy noobs’.

Just saying its a very doable challenge and that you have an entire month to prepare for it.
Crying about it is not going to get you what you want.

Yes I did the guardian one in full PVP gear as its the content I enjoy the most. Fully socketed and enchanted too.

Not enough, for the 4th time you need survival + barskin + that Armor buff

Not an issue if you use it sparingly. I also threw in a heal pot and it was fine. If you use the orbs properly before annihilation you won’t end up having not enough hp when he casts it

Interesting. In the book-mount topic we see people doing everything in pvp-gear too. Not only the tank challenges. So maybe it is vers that is scaling funny

Because that’s what it’s supposed to be like.

Not really, they nerfed the strength on it by 54 but it still heals plenty and still the best.

Still a lot more outliers, they still haven’t solved old consumes, pots, gems, trinkets, and all other sorts of stuff compared to what should’ve been.

Yes I know how it’s done. But by the 3rd or 4th I’ve nothing left, or don’t have the rage for ‘that Armor buff’ (it’s Ironfur). Frenzied Reg doesn’t need to be used sparingly as it barely heals enough as it is (… EXCEPT for people with high Vers, hence the topic.) How do you know? Watch videos with people with high Vers. Watch the DPS fly and the Regrowths 100-max them in 1 cast.

But it matters not if you lack the huge Agi or Ver people are getting out of different items to be able to push for that final 4 - 10%.

There is currently a video up of someone doing the run in 3 minutes only, using crazy weird specific gear. It pretty much proves the issue with MT right now.

There is a temptation to go get the Mythic Emerald Nightmare trinket + use my two bear leggos, double enchant and double oil them. That might do the extra %… But my point would still then be valid.

I wouldn’t like that I did it again ONLY because I ‘put on weird gear’.

Someone else previously pointing out how doable it is, just then revealed how they are in full PvP gear. And enchanted. And socketed… With high Vers… And the name of this topic iiisss??

Yes I did the guardian one in full PVP gear as its the content I enjoy the most. Fully socketed and enchanted too.

You literally, literally just proved my point. So damn perfectly.

"Stop making excuses! Meanwhile I’m going to use this high-vers-PvP-gear, full enchanted and socketed with odd gems  "

Thank you. Thank you…

you can farm EASY korthia versatility GEAR
it’s cheap very cheap it’s like 200ilvl gear but almost every piece will proc with VERSA

I know, the point of the topic is just pointing out the oddity with having to farm this stuff, and pointing out that it’s Versatility that appears to be the maker-or-breaker stat.

The thing is if you farm a full versa set you’ll likely find you’ll take loads of damage and do less dps then them. Eventually it’ll dawn on you that while gear helps and the scaling could be better, the biggest factor is the person at they keyboard.

Regardless, for better or worse, prep is part of this challenge. If you don’t have time to do the farming for prep then accept the consequences. Or farm some gear and do less attempts. Either way, its kinda known what the solution is currently…
