Ive never been so speechless of the state of PvP

  • Its dead.
  • everyone has too much tools especially monks, mages and hunters, evokers, warriors while also retaining insane pressure and mobility.
  • the changes to incap abilities is absurd
  • everyone does too much damage - its unplayable i tell ya that. Monks, shamans, hunter need to go to the bottom of the damage metter if they’re to keep their utility abilities.
  • Any class without immunity (parry/dodge mechanics count too) has slim chances of wining and/or surviving.
  • Even if you want to play Battlegrounds- > its full of premades.
  • Arenas - I meet freaking Pikaboo at 2k mmr.

Just come forward and say you dont know what you’re doing already its about time.
Its super frustrating to pay for a game yearly where you cant even make 1 coherent decission properly.

retail hype

The game may have some flaws. But no here can deny that we are playing the best game the world has to offer, and no other PvP game gives the dopamine rush as wow pvp does.

I just watched a Supatease video on youtube where he giving pvp gearing advice. I found out you could trade raid tier tokens in at the PVP vendor for PVP tier gear.

Where in the game does it let me know i can do this. Ive wasted two tier tokens! If you want new players to play pvp everything should be explained clearly in game without the need for 3rd party sites. Its so unnecessary convoluted.

I dont want to play rated now because i feel massively behind in gear. Either scrap pvp gear and just use templates instead or make it massively more fairer and easier to get gear.

Im trying to figure out what you mean with this.
PvE tier items can be upgraded to PvP items aswell through the conquest vendor. (One of the 2 Conquerors depending what piece it is)
The tokens from catalyst can be used on either PvE items or PvP items. It wont change the cost for conquest pvp Ilvl scaling.
Only real difference is the time when you get 4 set (if you even go for it).
Which then the easiest is to get PvE tier from raid and convert it to PvP through conquest. In 2 weeks if you got 1600 rating this wont matter, only at the start.

It feels like you misunderstand something?

I basically didnt know you could upgrade pve items to pvp. I had two tokens from raid and used them on pve items. I had zero idea that i could upgrade them to PVP.

I feel like i am at a total disadvantage now and will probably avoid rated until I’m better geared.

What do you mean two tokens from raid? Did you do LFR/Normal/heroic and got tokens which only your class can use? Or are you talking about the catalyst charges?

You cant Turn in the tokens you get from the raid to a PvP vendor so you get the PvP tier pieces for free with no conquest cost.

The only way for you to get tier pieces on a conquest pvp ilvl is:
Buy conquest pieces and use catalyst.
Get tier from raid/vault/catalyst(pve) and pay conquest to make them also get conquest pvp ilvl.

i agree but i would add silences to it.Those are absurd. Its another dr and its the most unavoidable cc of all.

No, that was the case until this patch that you could only use the catalyst. Now if you get a tier token from lfr etc and hand it in with conquest (700 i think) at the conquest vendor it upgrades to a pvp tier item.

You can also convert blood token pieces to tier as well.

I only found out about in Supateases video below. Items some people are at a massive gear advantage early season. Thats why i am not happy because nothing in game says you can do this. I havent even seen it on 3rd party sites on the below video.

Season 2 Gearing HACK 4 Set FAST + Hotfixes

I did write that.
In the end, everything still cost you conquest if you want it to be at conquest pvp ilvl.

Blood tokens can more just be seen as something extra on the side for now.
But if you really feel like its not fun, just, like you said, dont focus on rating until you feel your gear is fine or good enough.

This is another good example though that shows unless you’re paying attention to streamers or 3rd party sites you could be at a disadvantage. Later on in the season it doesn’t matter but you may as well hang on until later in the season to bother playing.

If youre new to the game how are they supposed to know. There should be a tutorial in game.

I dont mind doing lfr to get the tokens i just wish i had knew about it before using them as a pve piece.

for 1 week. season is for 6 months there

This still do not make any sense to me.
Did you use your catalyst? On what items?
You can still use the conquest on those PvE tier pieces.

Can you explain what you did wrong so its easier to understand where you are going with this?

Missing the point I think. imagine you didn’t know this information and you jump into rated. Say you have full greens and maybe 2 pieces of tier PvP items through catalyst.

Meanwhile someone who has this information could have a full 4 set of tier. You end up getting steam rolled. It just does seem fair because it’s not clear in game.

It’s a small problem I agree, but it’s all these small problems that amount to the issue that pvp is a mess. You should not have to rely on out of game information to understand routes to gearing up.

If I have to go and watch streamers to find out information then the games failed us.

You can argue tier is nerfed in pvp but again there’s no indication in game that states this as fact.

Now you can upgrade pvp gear using creates but this can be confused in game as making you more powerful in pvp but it doesn’t.

It all seems very messy. I would hate to be a new player in this game.

Gearing is messy.
Addons are required
Class imbalance
Poor mmr
Poor rewards
Class bloat
Premades
Cheating

The only people left playing PvP now are people that have been playing for years and have gotten used to it all and somewhat enjoy it. This does not make it a good game.

New players can’t really practice bgb. For example eye of the storm, only two bases are active at a time which is different from a standard eos bg. The amount of people I see running to cap the wrong basses is painful.

Anyway it is what it is.

it wont because 4set is most likely a only 4-8% overall increase, and will only decide 2-4 more wins after 100 games than without a set

i get what you are saying, i find it anyway trash designe, that PvPers have the same set as PvE player but Nerfed by 50%

to give Pvpers a pvp set like in Wod, where u get a Dmg bonus when u hit a Kick is better than this goofy sets where some classes benefit more than others, also u dont need any solution to guide newbies how this set thing works, if they bring normal sets back to the vendor.

it´s the same for pve/ wow is just really really really behind, when it comes to explaining things, i would say without wowhead wow is litteraly unplayable.

i mean i get your point when it comes to “advantages” its really small atleast on the 4 set thing i have it on my main and no on my alt, it feels kinda the same, because how “low” the gain actually is, it´s something about 2.5% overall dmg in a 6 min game

but when it comes to “confuse” people for no reason, you are right, the same problem have pve too. best example is the sirene island for the pve bis ring

or how to get many Valorstones etc / also the crest thing is really confusing aswell.

but yeah, wow is behind, atleast they are trying to make “weak auras” for the default client

thats mathematically impossible, only if someone uses a piece without converting it into pvp ilvl
but there comes the stat loss and the cast that sets are nerfed in pvp by 50-75%

I agree with everything you said but also to add that being speechless is not equivalent of creating thread to say something. Good that you have something to say on forum anyway, thats the whole point of forum.

I think the PvP player base is becoming so small, and dwindling with every patch, it’s making it hard for Blizzard to not think of PvP as an afterthought.
