This was the most unpleasant experience I’ve got for getting a mount. Staying at one place for an hour and spamming a macro is a really bad design.

I gave up on this one.
Even fabulous camping was somewhat more convenient, cause all I needed was to be in group and have selfie camera

The worst thing is that there were a couple of players camping at the same time. I feel terrible for them.

I honestly don’t get how did we get here in one expansion from weekly dark shore rare farms which I enjoyed - to mega grind on mechagon and - into to camp for hours, mid air, macro spamming among big worms who slow you down and player competition 
Hopefully they plan to pull back on their time waste in SL

Let’s hope so. I wouldn’t want to repeat that idiotic camping. Tbh I didn’t even wanted the mount, but wanted to get rid of the laso in my inventory.

My experience was kinda positive, people where very chatty in the ‘ivory cloud serpent waiting room’ and the grace period allowed me to snag the mount too when someone else lasso’d it.
The trick is that it will spawn at the very start of the mogu invasion.
So if you are in position for 9am Wednesday and its mogu, you will get it then (if its not mogu, be in position for 9pm Saturday.)
Thats what I did to get mine, got it first attempt 
Edit: And yes there was quite a few of us there, and I think most of us got it!

I agree but worse one i have done is in WOD and
just very evil .
Not too terrible though I bet 
Every camping mount is boring to farm and waste of time bcoz you are not playing game at that time.
Worst some mount sellers just tag and hide them for gold.

I love the fact that you need to be high enough to get tapped by every single damn great worm from beyond. It’s the most triggering thing. Had the lasso in my inventory for a while, but I just can’t get this thing.
Wish I could sell it on the AH or something.
I did the assault one late night and I spotted it, chased it around for a few mins as it was was fast.
I did once stay parked in one spot (the spawn spot) when I got the lasso, waited for it for about 15 mins before I went about my bussiness and lots were their waiting too, so it would have been a waste of time most likely for me.
It clearly isn’t meant to be that way (waiting at the spawn spot for it) , it’s just the mentality people have. I’m glad I just got it on the off chance one late night rather then waiting around for it now.
The concept behind the mount, a fast Cloud Serpent dashing around the area, surrounded by evil mind worms that slow you down, is kind of cool.
Putting it on a several hour timer, making it one person per spawn (or a few people due to the grace period), making it always spawn at the same place, rather than somewhere random, and similar is just bad.
I feel like they should’ve just made the lasso a rare drop, rather than make the entire process of using it the annoying thing.
I don’t mind killing things 300 times in 300 days, once each day. Been there done that. But sitting in a singular spot, spamming a macro, risking to waste hours of your time by simply going to the toilet for a few seconds?
Sorry but that’s even worse “gameplay” than the mission table is. And the latter one usually doesn’t even get a pass for being called “gameplay”.

I’m doing these BfA mounts in Shadowlands then when nobody cares doing them. Same goes for the 8.3 reputations. Why struggling now when you can breeze through it in 9.1 and higher?

Because I don’t like wasting my time with irregular spawn times and trying to get them with every alt available. I want to have my shot when I’m in the mood for it.

It always spawns at the start of the mogu invasion. The only variable there is if it is mogu or mantid first.
I logged out in vale on tuesday evening, logged in at 8:50, flew to spot, spammed macro for 1 min around reset time, got it first attempt.

this mount is not bad at all. more than 1 person can get it when it spawns too, i was in a full 40man raid group waiting for it to spawn and most of us got it.
there’s so many more mounts harder/annoying to complain this one barely scratches the surface.
spent 90 mins spamming macro - got the mount - sounds boring, but i used to play Everquest - you could spend many many hours camping a spawn, and when it did spawn it was often a placeholder, and if the correct mob did spawn then it didnt often drop the item you were after - you kids have it easy! and get off my lawn !!
still, this design sucks really hard.
it was bad with TLPD
it was bad with aeonaxx and camel
it was bad with WOD mounts and the Dark Star
it is still really, really bad and always will be bad
it’s literally not playing the game for hours, sometimes even days.
at least this is not something you need to do.
