‘X must happen to Y because it happened to Z, the only good story is a predictable one’ the post
Jaina won’t die this expansion, she’s a raid boss now and SPOILERS, she escapes at the end so at least for this expansion she won’t be popping her clogs.
For the story to not be another total Alliance victory we’d probably have to see the Night Elves try to retake their homeland just to be crushed by the Horde. To be honest I like how whilst the Hordes drama is more open and public, the Alliance is crumbling subtly. Tyrande, Malfurion and Genn have sent most of their forces to Kalimdor, the Alliance army is stretching thin, Mekkatorque is frozen solid and their attempt to drive the Zandalari away from the Horde has ended in them swearing vengeance against the Alliance.
Sure there’s currently the whole Alliance aligned Horde leaders farce going on with Saurfang and Baine but I’d like to see more go wrong internally for the Alliance. Maybe Anduin finds that he has riots and protests on his hands because he’s been so tied up in the war that he’s doing exactly what his father did and is neglecting his people. Maybe with Mekkatorque frozen solid, the Horde take their chance to commence flash strikes on Khaz Modan and the rest of the Gnomes + the Three Hammers get caught up trying to protect their homes.
The idea that jaina has to die because of rhasta is petty. You don’t tell a good conflict story like a game of pong.
I mean jeez rhasta wasn’t even part of the horde when he died anyway. So even if you accept the premise of “one for one” rhasta can’t be used in it as his death is what made the zandalari horde.
I personally favour what Greelix is saying. Just slamming a faction leader death on the alliance is boring. Internal conflict is where its at. We have dark irons and velf now to Stoke those flames, blizz should fan them. Also nice point about Anduin focusing on playing pirate Lords at his kingdoms expense. He’s doing exactly what his daddy did, focusing on being a hero king rather than a functionally decent king.
He is not alone making decisions, you missed the fact that he has Velen as an advisor which is rly old and experienced now, and one of the wisest leaders in the game atm. Btw take a note what did happened to the zandalari fleet, it can’t match the kul tiran anymore.
Well the idea was to get zandalari thinking how welcoming and supporting the horde did only brought the ruin and the conflict to them.
Alliance bias. The core of all story related problems.
I think Anduin and Taelia Fordragon may end up married with kids…
That’s an underestimation of the situation. Baine and Saurfang are literally Alliacne henchmen at this point with both their actions and mindets. For the Alliance bias to end, at least 60% of the current Alliance leadership needs to die to even the odds from the slaughterfest the Horde suffered through since TBC in 2007 started.
Doing something longer doesn’t mean you do it better. Not all exerience is good.
He died so princess Talawhatsit could take over. There’s no ‘balance’ needed. It was obvious what would happen from the start.
LoL? Yeah sure… tell that to Saurfang or Velen or Tyrande hahaha
I don’t necessarily think that we need to have a 1:1 ration of dying characters from both factions, but i’d love to see Tyrande die at this point.
You missed the point “lol”
Sylvanas - Jaina - The 19 years old boy and the orc in prison all have to die.
Dwarf and gnomes should lead alliance. The cows and trolls should lead horde.
So you just wanna kill such iconic and important warcraft lore character because what? Because its fair? Because score have to be even - leader for leader? Because of ppl like you is lore going downhill…
Vol’jin was killed being at the same level or higher then Jaina.
Cairne bloodhoof got killed being more iconic then Jaina.
I feel like she should stay.
As much as I don’t like her past actions and choices, alliance need someone powerful and sober at the top.
Who else will get Andy out of the next blight room or single handedly win a city?
OP must die soon enough. Seriously, why would they kill yet another one of the most colorfull developed characters from the game? Jaina is the embodiment of warcraft.
No she really is not sylvanas is more that then she is honestly because of being more then just arthas love intrest.
Thrall is the one you are actually looking for there.
Most of the development happened in the books not the game (see exception to this in the bfa story)
Ok im not biased towards aliance. Voljins death was as stupid like the suggestion of OP. Even u can see that how bad it was to donit just because other side have lost its leader. How can u support this topic then?
I am not agreeing or disagreeing to the killing of jaina, of the alliance leaders there is 3 that i like and she is one of them.
However her power level that people think she has should be much lower then what people think because most of it is done in the books, and so many of the big lore figures are much much stronger in the books then they are shown to be in game.
Take vol’jin in theory when he was dying he should have been taken straight to bwonsamdi to get resurrected as the loa of death really likes him and he has shown in the books that he can get someone dead (at least dying) back to life.
(see Tyrathan Khort)
Well power in wow is kinda ehm…debatable subject. If u take us as players for easiest example. We actualy went toe to toe against two titans and beated them. Why do we struggle now against some nameless figures in bfda or faction leaders. Its wierd.
