Jaina vs. Daelin

Though Jaina Proudmoore has only recently claimed her rightful place as Lord Admiral, her reign has already seen one major battle, the Battle of Dazar’alor, in which the Stormwind Fleet, led by Jaina herself, dealt a devastating blow to the Horde and their pathetic Zandalari allies and sent a clear message to the vile Warchief. In addition, Jaina successfully repelled a Horde invasion of Kul Tiras coming from Anglepoint Wharf and single-handedly annihilated the invading fleet.

Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, Jaina’s father, was loved by his people. His reign was marked by stability, prosperity, and peace. Under Daelin’s cunning leadership, the legendary Kul Tiran Fleet won a decisive victory at the Battle of Crestfall during the Second War, which estabilished absolute Kul Tiran dominion over the high seas. After the Horde’s humiliating defeat, Daelin would continue to uphold order and law in the seas. During the Third War, the Kul Tiran Fleet under Daelin also clashed with the miserable Darkspear Tribe and almost succeeded in wiping them out, had it not been for those stinky, meddling orcs.

Finally, with the might of the Kul Tiran Fleet at his back, Daelin launched the Invasion of Durotar, in which he attempted to bring retribution upon the Horde scavengers. His mighty Fleet succeded in dealing major blows to the Horde, and Daelin’s forces launched invasions and raids throughout the entire eastern coast of Kalimdor. At the climax of the war, the throng of orcs, trolls and tauren laid siege to Daelin’s stronghold of Theramore. The desperate Horde barely won the day only thanks to the betrayal of Daelin’s own daughter, Jaina, who stood aside and let those beasts tear apart the Lord Admiral.

In your opinion, between Jaina and Daelin, who was the better Lord Admiral? Who dealt the greater blow to the Horde during their time as Lord Admiral? And who was the greater source of salt and rage for the Horde playerbase?

Regardless, It is undeniable that when the Kul Tiran Fleet is united under a single leader, the likes of Lord Admiral Daelin or Lord Admiral Jaina, with a clear vision and decisive leadership, We truly are unstoppable.

No comment on the usual Arctur-posting but:

Obviously Jaina

While Daelin was more of a plotdevice for Horde Powerfantasy in WC3, Jaina has been a professional saltminer ever since tides of war.

Are you going to be alright Arctur? Do you actually think you are -from- Kul Tiras? You keep saying ‘We’ a lot, and you’re not quoting, do we need to call someone?

Seriously though, In WC3 Jaina was the right person, the Alliance was on a power trip, and needed a balance, she gave that. She also set up some complex plot devices that lasted for years until MoP. Do you honestly think the destruction of Theramore would have had the same resonance if it had been under a Warmongerer like Daelin, rather than a supposed pacifist like Jaina?

Theramore was important because it was Jaina, lets be fair. If Daelin had been ruler everyone would have been like “Yeah, fair enough, dude was asking for it, pushed his luck, got slapped”

With Jaina it is suddenly tears before bedtime and people going "How c-could they attack a military city that has just conducted a war of conquest through their lands, killing civilians and mutilating the dead, and torturing Prisoners of War! How dare they punch back! Jaina’s -Special!-

Basically with Daelin, everyone would have went “Yeah, fair enough, you punch, they punch you back” With Jaina, it suddenly caused a problem.

Now, the situation is different, different Warchief, different political situation, different needs.

Thing is, it doesn’t need different Proudmoores.

Daelin would have gotten Theramore wiped out long before Theramore. With no attempts at peace with the Horde? Yeah, that city is gone baby, long before it started glowing with blue powder.

He’d have no leverage with the Alliance en masse, he’s a nutter, trying to start wars! The Alliance would disavow him.

Either way. Theramore falls.

Jaina was the only way Theramore could have worked for as long as it did. And she has driven story along, and her plot armour is Golden, but no, Daelin was not the right Lord Admiral at either Point. Jaina was/is.

I am fine, I am just very joyful about the latest lore development that we had, so I thought about showing some positivity for once in this otherwise gloomy forum. At least there is still one of us who enjoys the lore. I do hope that you like my beautiful Proudmoore transmog.

Also, Daelin would have won the war had it not been for Rexxar the mongrel and his twisted band of friends who had plot armor. Daelin even managed to successfully seize Rexxar and his friends, but somehow those three animals were able to slaughter their way to freedom, even though they were in the middle of Theramore surrounded by the elite of the Lord Admiral’s forces. It’s as if Talanji and Zul managed to single-handedly break out of the Stockades.

It says a lot about the might of Proudmoore and his legendary Fleet if it took the orcs, the tauren, the trolls, the ogres, and Jaina to barely defeat him.

At least Daelin didn’t have Bipolar disorder so I’ll go with him.

This was also a sole human nation effort, given the others were occupied with the undead menace. Tragic how another kingdom wasn’t available to help Daelin finish the job at that point.

Jaina is the better Lord-Admiral because boobs, obviously…

Didn’t you get the memo?
