Medivh magically appears right at the start of the Purge of Dalaran and challenges Jaina to a magical duel to stop the righteous Purge before it can begin.
Just as a younger Khadgar and Lothar did in the past, can Jaina get rid of Medivh so that the Purge can begin? Who is the more powerful and skilled mage?

Jainaâs power level is confirmed by Blizzard as being the same as that as Khadgar and Aethas Sunreaver, so I think Medivh would probably quite easily slap her down.

Because Christie Golden writes this character. Jaina will kill anyone who stands in her way. Unless they bow and cower like rats. Or start a fanclub about her. Like Darion Mograine, the guy who has never interacted with Jaina as far as just standing in a room with her 10 years ago, suddenly starts fangirling so much about the lord admiral.
Christie Golden is a hack. Itâs time Blizzard puts up a word on her behavior in the storyline. Itâs obvious she has favorites and she doesnât care that sheâs ruining the entire god damn franchise with her behavior as her ego chamber on social media cheers her on.
Same with that Danuser fella. They both ruined this franchise.

Medivh. By are more than just large margain. Medivh is able to literally poop on the entirety of Azeroths NPCs. Not to mention Medivh being an Eternal while Jaina is a mortal. Him being altered by Sargeras while no longer being corrupted by him as well.
Also same as Khadgar he is far more versatile and generally experienced when it comes to Magic. Something that does not apply to Jaina. She has power but her magical armory is quite limited.
I just donât see Jaina standing a chance against medivh or khadgar.
We know she is the most powerful human female mage. That is the only thing that is stated, apart from Kosak stating that Khadgar and Aethas are equally powerful. I would strongly imagine Archmage Modera comes a close second in terms of most powerful human female mage. We also know Medivh could beat them. We also know that Rommath can beat the tar out of them, so ehh, despite awful writing by biased writes who want to turn her into the Second Coming of Medâan, she is in fact just -Really- Good. not -The Best-.
JainaâŚshe has her Guildâs gank squad of Genn, Malfurion, Alleria and Turalyon, hiding behind a rock nearby.
Literally none of them would hold a candle against Medivh. Even at once. Not even Malfurion who comes second in terms of power after pre nerf Thrall. Allerias void powers may prove annoying but shes basically an novice still. And Turalyon wellâŚme may talk after he stops getting a full power swing blocked by a single hand.
Medivh - there is no compitition.

Right, as if Thrall wasnât Metzenâs favorite and wasnât shoehorned to be more important and powerful than he probably deserved.
Jaina is at least bearable to some extent and she at least got smacked around like a punching ball by 20 Hordes and nearly died (while being surrounded by her favourite element in a spot of her choice that suits her entire way of fighting. Her performance during BoDA was absolutely pathethic). While Thrall was literally elevated to the point of the Messias (and having none on Azeroth being capable of dealing with him aside from Medivh. He was even stronger than Jaina while she was empowered by the Focusing Iris and only because of Kalecgos interference didnt have to kill her).
But one thing is that Thrall dislikes being seen as important, and believes anyone of the Earthen Ring couldâve done what he did during Cataclysm. Another thing is that he only had some power thanks to the Dragon Soul⌠without it, he was back to normal.
Jaina however has been given a ridiculous amount of power from nowhere, and its stupid as hell.
Which is absolute bull given Thrall was already the second choice next to Malfurion and he was only chosen because he was the only defacto possible person that wouldnt get flat out ripped apart by the Dragon Soul. Thats like the âoh stop it youâ meme. And after WoD he had his depression phase anyway (that nobody blamed him for Garrosh afterwards is beyond me. It WAS his fault)
He was regarded as being overpowered as heck even without. He had to because he was the counterpart to malfurion.
I can still only see her as a petty mage. She never achieved anything âwowâ aside from her bombarding undercity in her ship (which was quite useless during the fight against the hordes in BoDA). She got punched to a bloody pulp in BoDA while acting all high and mighty and her people are not much to show either. And in the books she merely didnt get oneshot because Thrall didnt want to kill her and Kalecgos arrived in time.
