Jelly jumping

So why cant we just use our flying mount grab the murloc and complete the world quest ?
Less frustating and you dont have to nerf or remove anything :man_shrugging:

Wouldn’t that be a nerf in itself? Nerf=Making it easier.

What’s the fun of cheating, I just did it for the first time and it wasn’t hard at all

for you maybe but it isnt for everyone

Tried it for the first time today…
Thought I wouldnt be able to do it, and I was totally right!

Haha same thing, I was expecting it to work though. It did work in legion with the circles that dashed you forward, and grab the thing at the end.

why not remove it all together or completely rework it?

i mean, whats the point of this wq if you have/want to cheat in order to complete it?

I did wonder if it would be like the Kirin Tor ones and you could just fly through it. Got it done on the 2nd try today so that’s a new record for me

Just shows if someone cant even jump jellies which are extremely easy now with the nerf how do they avoid boss effects…

 Make sure you’re on foot (not mounted), go towards the right side at the beginning, and realize that you can now still move/steer while in the air.

This is a change they made on the second day or so, because a lot of people found it pretty hard at release. It trivializes the whole thing quite a bit, but it doesn’t really feel “natural” (which might throw you a little).

And then the quest was completely irrelevant.

I’m glad you can’t skip it, the jellyfish quest right now is fine for the most part.

I disagree, there’s a big bubble around you and you have to move anyway to adjust your angle at which point it’d be obvious.

Yea but it doesn’t make sense that you still maintain movement control once you’ve bounced off.

Before the nerf it worked as you’d expect (or me anyway): you’d have to adjust your angle before you’d land because as soon as you launched upwards again you’d be out of control (you can still turn & look around, but you couldnt move or adjust your trajectory, as you can now).

It took me a couple tries at first (pre-nerf) but once i made it, i felt i could probably repeat it as often as needed. The nerf threw me a little on my first try, but it’s a lot easier now obviously, it just doesn’t feel natural to me being able to navigate around while in the air.

Basicly, pre-nerf it functioned as if you were a person jumping from one trampoline to another irl.
Now it functions like a person jumping, from trampoline to trampoline, while also wearing a jetpack

In terms of navigating, the only thing I do is turn in the direction of the jelly I want to bounce off. Can you move around more than that?

It’s hard to describe maybe but basicly, if you’re facing the wrong way when you bounce up, you can still course-correct while in the air, that wasn’t the case before.

Pre-nerf you had to be angled correctly before your feet hit the trampoline, because once you were in the air, you had no control whatsoever (until you land again).

lolwut? How do I expect to be enveloped in a bubble when jumping on trampoline irl? Or going invisible after landing? Or jumping on trampolines that are static in mid-air, they are supposed to to move opposite direction from me, where I gave it initial force.

How do jellies even float in mid-air? Why do they bounce? Why does water around Nazjatar never collapses?

wings help a lot with this one
ty Blizz for the them

I believe this was the part many struggled with the first day (myself included), so I ended up skipping the WQ.

I also think they increased the area of which you need to hit the jellies? I seem find the quest alot more forigiving now than it was.

Yea obviously that’s not what i’m suggesting.

Merely the fact, that not being able to change course anymore (once you’re in the air) is a common side-effect from physics, both irl while jumping between trampolines as in the rest of wow.

If you jump off a cliff in Orgrimmar, and crater to your death at spot X, and then repeat the exact same jump again, but this time try turning once your feet have left the floor, you’ll still land in the exact same spot again.
Whatever momentum and direction you had is maintained.

With this WQ, post-nerf, that is not the case, you can jump the left and change your mind mid-air and turn and land on the right instead.

Indeed.

Yea that seems possible, it just seems very forgiving all around now. I think once someone manages to make it once (post-nerf), they’ll likely be able to one or two shot it every time in the future.
