I’m leveling my monk in Pandaria atm and I wondered, why not have Jinyu as an allied race?
Out of all the posibilities out there, they seem like a good choice. They look great, would be different from what we have right now (we don’t have any fish race), they have potential for plenty of customization, from colors to patterns to fin shapes, etc. Not to mention they would probably look great with several transmogs.
Honestly if we got them (in the Horde) I’d definitly reroll my Monk to be one.
Well they would be Alliance but if it could be mirrored then Horde would get Hozen and I love the sound of that
Why would they be Alliance? I don’t know their lore well, do they have a connection? (First time questing in Pandaria btw, wasn’t in retail at the time)
Hmmm, not a big fan of Hozen, but if done well I think I could be ok with that. If at least the player model was the bigger Hozen, instead of the small skinny ones.
I wish we got Jinyu.
They would have been perfect with Nazjatar too. 
Waveblade Ankoan are basically Jinyu.
Yuck. Horde should have gotten the Nazjatar Goblins for a Nazjatar themed allied races.
I’d reroll Alliance for them.
Why on earth would the horde get them?

If they were to be an allied race… it would be alliance 
The Jinyu were there helping the Alliance and the Hozen were there helping the Horde. Personally, if the Horde got Hozen I would say they got the better deal - those Hozen are amazing 
Yeah I didn’t know that… Never quested here before, only doing it now as a Horde.
That sucks tho… Alliance has the Ankoan too, and I really like both models for Ankoan and Jinyu… Man… They have Worgen (my favourite “animal” race), it would suck big time if they got my second favourite too…
I see. I personally prefer the Jinyu, but hey Hozen could be fun too. As a Rogue for example, would fit well, they seem to be prankesters and such.

And jinyu really do need to be an alliance allied race. They need the diversity in their roster

That’s my DH, that mog I would definily copy it for a Jinyu WW Monk. Maybe with a change here or there, but mainly the same look.
If a sea expansion was ever made or something sea themed I would imagine that:

a race matching the horde’s intellectual capacity. hozen fits 100%
The Jinyu are very pro Alliance, there is even an ingame cinematic with the Horde and Hozen on one side and the Alliance and Jinyu on the other. If they did become an Allied race they would be Alliance.

I guess either one or the other the player would have customization options from both. They are very similar, afaik only the fins and some other little details are different.
However the Ankoan model seems a bit more polished.
The 2 races used to be the same one until they separated and evolved differently
So in theory customisation from one could be given to the other for RP reasons
