Jittery screen

Hello, I have noticed that lately I am getting a jerky screen, with or without sync, in any place, even inside my own garrison. For example I move the camera around and the motion starts and stops continuously. I am not talking about screen tearing which is not happening that often. WoW reports 65FPS up to 100FPS, but it does not matter what the FPS, the jerkiness is there. I have taken settings to min or to max, I have played with various settings, it makes no difference. Finally, I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers, but again it made no difference.

Has anyone noticed anything similar and what was the solution?

I guess you’ve rebooted your PC and tried installing latest updates?
Have you tried turning your graphics settings to the lowest setting possible?
Ran WoW in Window, Window(Borderless) and Fullscreen?

If none of that makes any difference then I would suggest doing a clean reinstall of graphic drivers. Google “DDU” and look for Guru3D’s website.
Use this tool to remove all traces of Nvidia Graphic drivers and reinstall the fresh one you downloaded.

Thanks for your reply. So I have analysed a bit more, it seems although we have 60-100 FPS or more, objects in the background move in “steps” and it is visible, ie the motion is not smooth. Example press “left” for a while, then press “right” and keep going left and right. Observe an object a few steps away from you, how it “moves” left and right, as you move. It does not move smoothly, instead it moves in discreet steps. I have played Counter Strike and Subnautica and they are both excellent, it is only WoW that does this.

can you capture video and install youtube… im curious how?

I am not sure how to capture video, and whether the video capturing itself will not produce its own jitters. As I said I played (most recently) Subnautica and Counter Strike Global Offensive and they are both silky smooth. This is a WoW problem.

I have a GTX 1080 and a UHD 60Hz screen. WoW reports from 45FPS to 100FPS+ depending on how “busy” the screen is (explosions, fire, smoke etc, all slow it down).

To reproduce: stand in front of a large -ish fixed object in a non-busy place, eg 60FPS+. Move your character left and right repeatedly. Do not look at the character but look at the object in the background, how it “moves” left and right, it is not smooth, it is like a stepper motor, they are very small “steps”, granted, but are visible.

i bet this is happen vsync off mode…

vsync on. everything should be smooth…
