Hello.
I am visually impaired player with diabetic retinopathy, who has been using jocy_com text to speech addon and monitor software to turn texts in the game to speech. Thing like quest texts, NPC bubles, Chat and many other things are essential part of anjoying a gameplay in World of Warcraft both retail and classic.
Until lately, i have been able to use this text to speech feature provided by jocy_com to hear quest texts, chat, npc bubles and many more as peech. The software has a synthesized voice like Microsoft Sam or Apple Siri so there are no voice actors nor need to have databases for the speeches as the texts allready in the game provide all the needed texts for text to speech work.
Text to speech aplications are essential in the life of visually impaired people. Many of us do have sufficient vision to play games, but small thingss like texts arre the problem when one has a blurred vision due central precise vision being impaired.
Until lately the software has worked flawlessly, but one of the patches last half year has made the text to speech software unable to monitor text channels and thus, it does not turn anything in World of Warcraft to speech anymore and this has severely impacted gameplay for people with visual impairments like this or just poor vision due older age. It would be highly apreciated, if someone on the technical side responsible for accessibility options would take a look on to this issue.
I repeat. Text to speech is extremely important to visually impaired players.
As such, it would be great if the folks there would either co-operate with the said addons/softwares author to help make it work again or better yeat, incorporate text to speech as a core feature of accessibility option inside game.
I do know that addons and 3rd party softwares are not responsibility of Blizzard at all, but this issue is a bit different as the text to speech feature is really essential and big part of game is severely impacted by not having text to speech feature anymore. We visually impaired and people with poor visus really need this feature and i plead you to get this message to someone who really cares and can do something helpful to get this feature incorporated to the game once more.
This thing is really important for players like myself with visual impairment disability and it would be really important to get this information to reach the right people and i also sent this due in game suggestions but since these get no answers and forums rarely SEEM to get real attention from developers, i reallyalso apreciate any poinmters the community can give to get this message reach the right people.
