Joyous Journeys – Summer XP Buff Event

I’m happy with all the changes. But I have only one request, take your time. Take your time. Let us relax a little. there are always nerds who go through content in one day, but this does not mean that everyone else is like that. I, as an ordinary player, do not need this race. and I want calmly prepare for WotLK

LOL. They just can’t help it … they must always nerf and smash something.
Guess the audience who they claim they brought back the classic for just doesn’t matter … it’s always the potential quick cash.

We have the TBC servers where people who want to be ready to jump into WotLK can start preparing.
And you announced the fresh servers where people can just start … fresh. I guess I was being optimistic when I said that the fresh servers will be a “novelty” for about 2 months into Wotlk … don’t think it will even last for 1 before they’re up to speed like the exiting servers.
This is basically an invitation for the all the bots in the world to get ready to sell.

Also … Joyous Journeys? What the … ? =)))

Strange how changing things away from how originally designed breaks other related features isn’t it?

People will ask for the XP buff to be permanent. Then they will ask for other things like training costs to be reduced to compensate… and it goes on and on until we get Retail 2.0.

It’s hilarious how people can’t see history repeat itself. Whatever, people get what they deserve, and I’ll laugh in the future when people ask for Classic Classic-- and then only for the cycle to repeat once again.

It’s hard to see the eventual results of chipping away tiny fragments one at a time. I didn’t see the damage LFG could do at the time, and it wasn’t fully realised until it combined to make the horror of LFG+CRZ. However, we can see the history of those things now, and it’s rather comical to see it repeat.

Faster levelling is for people that simply don’t want to do it-- and it seems perfectly ridiculous to design features around people that don’t like them. It’s just painfully obvious in modern WoW where people never stop asking for it to be faster. Blizzard says “It’s now half the time.” a year passes and many players say “Levelling takes too long, make it fasterer.” Blizzard complies. A year later “Levelling takes too long, make it fasterer.”

It’s about time they stopped capitulating to these people, and sdee the clear agenda which is to remove levelling entirely because they just want to have an army of alts right now.

The explanation that WoW devs gave for fresh realms was not that they were for people who “like normal leveling” or anything like that, but that they were for people who wanted to start WotLK on an equal footing (level-wise, gear-wise, economy-wise, etc) with others. The XP boost doesn’t contradict any of this.

50% XP boost on fresh realms. Thats a JOKE! Seriously Blizz. Classic servers should be about the journey.

Where is LFD?
How about race change? No? Mkay cool lemme just enjoy leveling in wotlk from 1 because that’s awesome

At least you did this one right . No , not the changes , the indirect announcement of wotlk , which will come in 6(+2 or 3)-8(+2 or 3) weeks . Now i can take a healthy break , enjoy the summer to avoid the burnout . You see , some of us are playing classic since day 1 . For us this is not classic , it’s a rollercoaster of madness . A sick season of mastery before the actual som became a thing . The mathematics are there , they’ve always been there , about how much a phase , a raid tier , an expansion should last . You’ve been ruining it all since day 1 .
Long story short , wotlk should release around Xmas , an ok-ish middle ground would be late October , but no , it seems you are rushing it for classic 3rd anniversary , late August
To quote Metalica , take a look the the sky just before you die , it’s the last time you will dear blizz . Because everybody knows that the moment people kill the Lich King , you are pretty much done as a company

Classic never was about the journey as player did put the effort to make it that way. Power leveling, gold making, gear progression - everything was optimized by players. And don’t expect even with 1x and no exp bonus that people would “wait” for anyone.

To have anything resembling “how it was” Blizzard would have to do a lot of policing. They did some in SoM and they also moving part of that to current servers moving WoTLK forward… yet player meta will still be there. Most people already likely know their bis pre-raid, bis professions, alt professions and bis farming strategies (including instances).

If they put the effort they will… although some probably won’t if they can’t handle gold already and while playing on mega realm to make it even easier.

What is right for vanilla doesnt apply to all expansions to follow by simply calling them classic. Vanilla isnt tbc, wotlk or cata and the game design changed. While vanilla has its focus on the leveling content, that is not the case for later expansions.

Dungeon finder, race change, faction change = Doesn’t fit into classic feel, we not adding these.

50% xp buff that didnt exist in the classic expansions = We adding this bro we gonna retail it up!

Typical Blizzard

Reading the comments, this is the most crazy sh*t ive seen.

Why do you like a “JOURNEY” inside a dead game with the same content, not changed at all? Like all the 1-60 zones. Unchanged. You wanna experience that as SLOW as possible for the 12398123912389th time? Hahahaha

The 50% XP change is an ABSOLUTE JOKE. You want it to take more than 200 hours of /played to get to the max level? 50% is not enough. 350% should be enough. Since boosting is roughly 300k xp/h and questing is 100k xp/h. What do you think most people will choose?

I have played WoW since the dawn of time, and yet today I found something new and unexplored on a lowbie toon in Westfall. Guess that’s my answer.

People are different, some will boost while other still like to level manually.

I love it. This combined with the boosting nerf is just simply great. No more 20 minutes of whispering people in order to get one dungeon ran normally. Also the questing zones will be much more lively.

Nice. it is a better event than the original one you had that was a disaster.

When is the BUFF going to be put on? We don’t know anything and I want to know so I can continue raising my mage to level 61.

It’s been 20 days, and we still don’t know anything. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is nice and all, but what are you doing about the mass exodus via transfer abuse?

There were no announcements so it’s unlikely NA gets it tomorrow, but it’s worth keeping an eye. I would expect there will be 2 weeks + 4 weeks under prepatch. If they would enable it tomorrow WoTLK would have to launch start of September which isn’t that likely, more likely 3-4 weeks later.

july 19 buff boost xp
august 2 arena ends
august 9 realm merges
august 16 beta closes/prepatch
september 13 wotlk launch
