Joyous Journeys?

What do you all think? Are we likely to get Joyous Journeys again in the near future?

I’m still working on getting one of every class to level 90. They’re all above level 85 now, so Joyous Journeys would definitely help!

You seem to not had looked for 20 closest topics about players asking for Mista of Pandaria Classic / Classic progression future, since we, players on this forum, are still being ignored by the Blizzard since Blizzcon.

We where being ignored many month before Blizzcon but before that people were ok with that because they asumed Blizzard would reveal there plans at Blizzcon.

Yes, I’ve seen the previous threads, but none of them actually answer what I was asking.

There’s no question that we Classic players are being ignored. It’s been that way ever since MoP Classic launched, when Blizzard more or less decided to stop giving a damn about this version — leaving bugs unfixed, not bothering to make sure everything worked as it should, and instead pouring all their attention and resources into WoW Forever.

I’m still going to keep progressing and developing my characters in MoP Classic, regardless of whatever other games or versions Blizzard decides to release.

MoP Classic is going to die. It probably already has, thanks to the WoW Disney beta.

The only question many of us have left is whether our characters can be saved, or if they’re going to die with it.

JJ usually shows up between the end of one expansion and the beginning of the next or shortly before a new patch or season. We’re at the end of MoP but we’re not getting another expansion. So most likely, no more JJ.

Nah , I have a feeling a chance of WoD classic is very high.

The least possible outcome is shutdown :They lose playerbase, they lose subs. Bad outcome.

Era realm: they might not lose as much as shutdown since some people are looking forward to mop era.

WoD classic: the majority of MoP playerbase will not be so mad and will definitely try WoD for some time , which means they will lose less than any other outcome.

So it’s gonna happen don’t worry and wotlk anniversary will happen as well. I guess it’s just someone’s way of having fun to make heartbreaking dramas here.

Well, i thought the same thing at first. Then we got an empty roadmap after SoO, everyone waited for blizzcon thinking surely that’s where they’d announce the next expansion, and they ended up completely ignoring us instead.

Zero communication, an empty roadmap, and now yet another new version of WoW. It doesn’t exactly feel very Classic Progression-friendly.

I’d play WoD in a heartbeat, but I’m pretty sure Blizzard would rather move as many of us as possible into the new WoW than keep the progression servers going.

Call it dramatic if you want, but if WoD really was the obvious next step, I think Blizzard would have given us something by now.

I really hope I’m wrong, though.

My hope for WoD is dwindling, but it’s important to remember what Holly said during BlizzCon - however little it proves - that WoW: Forever would be a new game, living along side Retail/Modern and Classic.

What form this “Classic” is in, if it’s just Era servers, or if they actually progress, that we do not know yet.

People have talked about the expenses of having servers running and - with out knowing the true architecture - that seems unlikely to really affect the games, as they’re on modern technology and it’s rather scalable depending on active player count. What matters is how much support and development they need to make.

Right now - and probably through the remainder of the year, they’re focused on WoW: Forever.
They want as many players to enjoy Forever, so speaking about any Classic version is presumably off the table until Forever settles, however annoying that is.

Right now we see a steep drop in Classic players. This is driven by the lack of stuff to do and more importantly because of lack of communication. We don’t know what’s happening with our characters.
Many have jumped onto WoW: Forever but time will tell how well the Horizontal progression is executed. If people get tired of the slower phase and want to do the newer stuff again…

I know players who do NOT want the slow walking phase, not meeting stones, no flying mounts… They neither want retail! To retain those players, they’d need to let our Classic Progression characters move onto WoD, especially considering how good players have said Legion is.

As someone who originally quit before Cata for educational reasons, I’ve enjoyed the OG experience up to MoP - something you just can’t get through Retail!

Unless Blizzard implements some of the hated QoL features in Forever - like meeting stones, so you aren’t forced to run dungeons with a Warlock - I expect to only play through the last few months of 2026 and if WoD’s not on the table, I’m out…

Time will tell how many users Forever will retain. I may simply not be the targeted audience anymore, and that’s fine as well. Would be nice to know though!

All of these assumptions comes from the idea that wod can just be spawned and servers turned on. That’s not how it works. MoP Classic was being developed around Ulduar (first time we found data in the cdn). That’s more than 2 years. These modern expansions take more and more time to get done. It’s not only raids. Just to name a few things - world content, spells, quests, phasing and hidden auras with code that is no longer used.

And let’s be real here. There is no way Blizzard was developing forever and sacked both tbc and mop while also working on wod classic in the last year. The issue is Microsoft didn’t allocate enough resources to progressive Classic to continue. That’s also why you don’t get any communication right now - the dev team doesn’t know what is happening with progressive Classic. Forever might very well just completely flop and Microsoft changes their current plan but that’s out of their control.

The very high chance now is becoming MoP Era without any official announcements for it.
Sure original SoO run about a year and it seems Classic one will break that record, but without anyone playing it. Population dropped to 14K in all EU realms combined (En, De, Fr, Ru) according to ironforge.pro and that was by then 22th of September, shortly after Blizzcon. That would be terrible launching conditions for WoD expansion ( that has low content amount, but Blizzard could had cut it to 8 months span in Classic) having reputation of being second worst only to Shadowlands. With people leaving for Forever Draenor launch in 2026 is impossible and 2027 is too late.

It seems Blizzard already not counting previous Classic players as clients. Microsoft is only interested in new sales, so they don’t care for potential loss of players who may have had waited for Legion Classic ever since Wrath or Cataclysm Classic. And current MoP numbers are too low for their liking, so they finished us off with ongoing Forever beta PR campaingn.

Show me those people. Every guild I know either cleared Garrosh with main crew, so thry were trying to make 1 kill for benchers or were activly trying to finish SoO HM before Blizzcon. Now half of these guilds are disbanded and another half are left only with part of their crew. They try to collaborate with other guilds, but it needs time and time works agaiat us with more people quitting or leaving for Forever beta aleach week.
By the Forever launch in start of November it will be over.

We had 27 people before Blizzcon, went down to 19 after it, collabed with another guild brining our number up to 31 but now we are at 22. Most likely we would need to go into 10ppl raid soon. Reqruitment is dead, guilds to collab with are disintegrating. If your goal is to play some normal SoO you will find that most of these low progress guilds died after a month of SoO release.
