Joys of low level tanking

Log in, join LFD start run, party just runs where they want pulls way to many mobs we all die.
Rinse and repeat many times a day.
OH the joys of tanking low level dungeons.
Yes im low level, just started tanking, and no wonder tanks hate this sheeet.
OH and the final nail is we get 30 min debuff when we leave group because we cant abide the same old stuff.
Make the debuff for Max level only please, let us lowbies spam dungeons to level that bit quicker.

Ok just done another run, group was yet again pulling mobs from all over, no way to keep aggro from that many mobs.

SO i asked in group does this way usually work ?

i got a reply “yes as long ad you hold aggro”, i just Lol’d and said yeah ok mate.
Got kicked and 30min debuff
Now im level 27 limited skills, armour and weps just trying to lvel up.
Said at start of dungeon, ive never been this way before does it work.
No replie so i had no choice but to follow path of dps…i mean wth.

Rant over.
Peace all

Make the debuff last for 5 hours for blood elfs and the timer only goes down when the character is logged in.

I don’t know but I’m having a lot of fun leveling my Vengeance DH.
Have never played Vengeance but no complains or kicks so far. If I don’t like the group I just kill the first boss and leave; you get a 10 minutes debuff but you can do some quest or log to another character while you wait.

That said, in my opinion there’s some tanks that are more annoying to level. I particularly hate leveling Prot Paladin because their skills are way to limited at lowest levels.

Just let them die, even the densest people get the picture eventually.

If you leave after killing a boss you don’t get the debuff so if its a douche group do that.

I dont know, I never had issues with holding aggro on low lvl characters even if others were pulling mobs all over. Maybe the issue is somewhere between the PC and the chair.

He said hes new to tanking. Weird flex though /pat.

Since we’re talking about issues between the keyboard and chair. You buy achievements and you’re throwing the “skill” stone at someone else?

Oh my god, you busted me, so heartless! :OOOO. Dont know what that has anything to do with low lvl tanking but ok. I bought HC Jailer because I dont actively raid anymore and I make the gold for the boost much faster than I would progress it with pugs (and pugs dont take anyone except ppl who already have AOTC) or weekend guilds. I value my time. I dont see anything bad with paying for stuff in game with legit gold I made with my own crafting efforts through the AH. And since I value my time, this is the last reply you are gonna get from me on this topic.

Well, you literally look at your bars without any option. I got currently a prot war up to lvl 24. No rage available, no abilities available and just 1 taunt. Not sure how your auto attacks are keeping aggro.

Have you gotten the “OMG He has Heirlooms missing!” message yet?

My few cents on prot warrior at this lvl then:
In low lvl dungeons it usually does not matter that a few mobs have aggro on someone else since its easy to kill them.
You can play around with the timing of shockwave too, to stun enemies for a few seconds and give everyone some breathing room and time to perhaps kill a few mobs, even though they are not aggroed on you. You can choose the rumbling earth talent if it works for you.
Choose the war machine talent for quickly generating rage (since your groups do bigger pulls, this could give you decent amounts of rage + the movement speed bonus helps with moving from pack to pack faster).
Use thunderclap for a little bit of aoe threat and rage when possible.
Use hamstring to slow down melee mobs - potentially, your group could kill a few mobs before they even reach the (ranged) players.
Use charge of couse, when moving from pack to pack. It roots them and generates rage for you.
Heroic throw has no cooldown, it is ranged, instant and generates high threat - you can use this to pull stray mobs on to yourself.
Since you do not have many abilities available yet, following the advised go-to builds from SL guides is probably not the best idea for now.
