Just as I predicted

So Void Elves now get to be Dark Rangers and Demon Hunters?

Meanwhile, the Nightborne; who lore-wise should be just as eligible, still get nothing?

That means the Alliance now has two races that can be Demon Hunters, while the Horde is still stuck with just one.

And please don’t hit me with the classic, “BuT tHe HoRde haS mOre DruIds!”

Yeah, cool, two Tauren and two Trolls.

That’s not exactly groundbreaking diversity.

Also, DH is a hero class.

We still have time, please introduce Nightborne Demon Hunters Blizzard.

I have a slight feeling it’s not only Void Elves who are going to get to be DHs. I’m pretty sure they just revealed Velf’s DH as an example.

Might be revealed in the deep dive.

Who said only Void elves will be DH? You can’t come to that conclusion based on the trailer.

Lorewise, only the Elves who followed Illidan 10.000 years ago were created into Demon Hunters.
Nightborne were under magical ‘lid’ in Suramar, not following Illidan and Void Elves were created just in recent events in BFA (their banishment from Silvermoon City). So lorewise, imho, none of them fit to be a DH.

Blood Elves (or former High Elves) and Kaldorei are great pick. The rest … well, unless we get good in game explanation are questionable.

I personally am perfectly fine if some classes are restricted just to some races (e.g. I didn’t mind when back in time we were only having option for tauren or night elf druid. Felt kinda imho more exclusive).

New Demon Hunter Specialization Revealed - Embrace the Void with Devourer - Wowhead News

" Alongside this reveal, Blizzard has also directly confirmed to us that a new class/race combo in Void Elf Demon Hunters will be available in Midnight."

You literally have fel-infused nightbornes with warglaive + shield in Suramar.

Elves are preferred because they have the less percentage to fail and die during the ritual to become a demon hunter. So to me the nightbornes are perfectly good candidates, much better than orcs.

Hmm ok, but it’s still not set in stone I think. Based on previous expansions, there has never been a case where only 1 faction got a new race/class.

“Alongside this reveal, Blizzard has also directly confirmed to us that a new class/race combo in Void Elf Demon Hunters will be available in Midnight. An obviously thematic combination, considering the new specialization, though Horde players may take exception at being left with only one choice. Nightborne seems like a clear analogue, especially given their own past dealings and conflict with demonic forces, though no additional class/race combinations have been confirmed.”

And having another elf IS?? :joy:

No i was just confirming Velf was hopefully NB get them as well.

those are felborne, not true demon hunters … you have some of those fel infused character all over Legion (not only elf racial specific), as they were seeking power, joining the Burning Legion forces.

Again, lorewise - Nightborne missed their chance — they were sealed away in Suramar during both Illidan’s first demon hunter training (10k years ago) and his Outland Illidari recruitment. Their culture was tied to the Nightwell, not fel magic.

I still consider demon hunters those, who followed teachings of Illidan and not some fel infused wannabes, who just joined Burning Legion seaking the power.

Void Elves and Kaldorei are confirmed now for Alliance, right?
Horde has Blood elves - if they decide to add also Nightborne it’s ok.

Just please, don’t let it be pandaren or tauren.
