Just because we *can* kill each other, doesn't mean we should

I’m thinking specifically of world quests where you have to down an elite in a free for all area.

Surely the obvious thing to do is to pile into the boss together and then, if you must, fight after. But nobody does. Given that the quest rewards are better than any amount of HKs it makes no sense.

Some shammy just tried to organise some co-operation and got burst down while he haplessly pointed at the boss. Poor shammy.

I don’t understand why Blizz even designs quests like this except to have a laugh at us. The boss isn’t even taggable so everyone gets the kill (maybe faction-tagged I guess but even so…)

PS: Yes, I realise that (a) I am screaming at the wind and (b) some people just want to watch the world burn.

If you dont want to die, opt-out of world pvp, don’t complain it happened when you chose to enter into it.

We should if we want to if find it fun.

Some people want to eat their cake and have it too. They get upset when they realise they can’t. I’m always opt-in for pvp even when leveling alts or running about solo as a healer, I’ll learn more that way.

To clarify, I am in no way complaining about dying in world PVP. That’s part of the fun and why I have War Mode on 100% of the time.

But when a WPVP quest specifically requires co-operation I do wonder why more people don’t delay the redhot Player-On-Player action until the elite mob is dead.

But by now I should know better, I suppose.

Because it’s fun hehe. Some will be there for the wpvp not the pve.

But it’s a WPVP quest, the point of which is to down a PVE mob.

I love a nice gank as much as anyone but why did Blizz even make these? I can’t help but feel it’s some kind of psychological test we’re all failing…

Compared to SL, when Warmode was pretty much just for the bonus xp/gold, now there are actual incentives to actively kill players: The bloody coins, the weekly quests, the achievs, honor (its season start, everyone needs it now), etc.

I guess 4-6 months from now, after people get their Malicious title, wpvp sets, and other stuff, things will calm down…

It encourages wpvp to happen, much needed after SL wpvp drought. DF really needed these incentives.

I like the anarchy and free for all aspect of these quests, and how one group replaces another in control. My only issue is I usually have to leech the boss kill by taging it and then staying out of melee range, otherwise I would get AOEd down by others.

People do it because it gives them Bloody tokens and Sparks for the new quest.

It’s not really free for all though, because the vast majority are in 5 man premades with a healer. Incredibly frustrating when you’re solo PvPing

The Objective is PvE, the PvP part is killing anyone that shows up.

I recommend OP to kill every single alt or newbie in your way
We always thought “we do not kill” but we are pissed if we are killed
How about we even this out by ourselves?

Just saying, but some Open World quests are WM ON only, there’s no option.

The issue is that I normally help out any player of my faction in world pvp. I did recently in that free for all pvp zone just to get killed afterwards by the same guy and a friend of his.
This just leads to a “go f yourself” in the next pvp encounter in the world. No heals for anyone except myself.

And a free for all pvp zone shouldn’t allow groups. Either it’s free for all or a group environment.

Yeah, it is annoying. This is why I play Rogue, because I almost always manage to flee if some group bravely 5v1 me. Non stealth people have no option but to make their own group.

Yesterday there was a bounty on some Horde Rogue. The Rogue was in stealth the whole time, for quite a while until a DH unstealthed him. The zerg that went for the bounty nuked them both and the poor DH who helped us get the bounty died and missed out on the loot. Felt bad for him.

Those are called PvP quests my dude, and the option is to just not do them.
