Almost all that guides are total trash full of subjective opinions of the author.
But people taking it like the last and only sacred truth.
Just play the game and learn it from your own experience.
I did try out paladin on the beta realms. Our pallies are the weakest tanks by far with the current tuning.
I’d recommend reading it. They explicitly say why it can’t be used in M+.
Because they reviewed every hero spec and this is an opinion

I remember before Dragonflight “everyone” said Warrior would be the strongest tank - only for the meta slaves to all panic reroll to paladin after 2 weeks!
As to why Wowhead says what it does. There class guides are written by 1 person who like everyone has an opinion.
I know it’s a strange concept but opinions bit it’s OK for people to have opinions - even if they are different!
