Why is posting my (unoffensive) name in Chat offensive? I cannot respond to crafing requests anymore.
I post my crafters name, either Rumbokar-Tichondrius or Ombrakur-Tichondrius, sometimes just that sometimes something such as “Rumbokar-Tichondrius could craft this”. Yesterday a player told me that he got a warning and a report button. Today I just posted my name and after a while I was told that I was put on the ignore list.
Why is that and what could be done about it.
Hey Arueshalae,
I’m not having issue writing either names in game, on any server or yours.
Could you try again after disabling all of your addons? If the issue persists, try to reset your interface by default. If the issue is still there afterward, feel free to post a screenshot of what the exact issue is please.
Thank you!
I cannot because the issue is on the receiver’s end!
I just whisper my name and the recipient gets a warning and the report button. Just like that. Three days ago I was whispering: “Rumobokar-Tichondrius kann das” (German obviously for “… can do it”) and got the reply: “You might want considering a name change because I just got a warning and a report button”.
Obviously I cannot take a screen shot. I also do not see how that ever could be related to my addons.
It does not appear to happen all the time. But then, I have no idea what happens on the “other side’”.
I see. It looks like it’s the Censor Messages option in the Social menu. It doesn’t appear to be new, and should have nothing to do with a character’s name.
There’s a bit more information here:
That is my suspicion as well it is just that I cannot see any relation to what I have written and I just do not know what I should or could do about it. Right now I am afraid of responding to crafting request.
Having tried a few different combinations, it looks like Rumobokar Tichondrius kann das
doesn’t trigger any warning. You could try that, or try to mix your messages (or simply say “I can do it” for example).
This is what I do when I am logged into that char, otherwise I have to redirect customer’s to my crafter for that profession.
Meanwhile I got a response for my ticket which indicates those warnings could be raised as a result of me responding too fast. Which is hillarious because if I don’t, and I respond manually, not using a sniper tool, then another crafter gets the order.
Customer Support wouldn’t be able to change this system. Game masters won’t be able to help with that.
I don’t believe this has anything to do with how fast you’re responding, and more with the content of the message.
Once again, CS and GMs wouldn’t be able to help with this issue, I’m afraid. All I can do is encourage you to try and find different ways to message other players.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much though, even if you trigger the warning - someone would need to report you for it, and then a game master would need to confirm that you’re sending inappropriate messages before suspending you.
i was wondering if the system might have flagged the word das in your sentence Rumobokar-Tichondrius kann das since das in my language means a toilet or something worse.
let us blame Millhouse Manastorm
Okay, just out of curiosity. I already spend 10 minutes trying to figure out your language with ChatGPT, also considering dass, tass, tas, tazza, etc.
But ChatGPT claims there is no standard language where “das” has the meaning of toilet…
Also, simply posting the name “Ombrakur-Tichondrius” (another alt) got me on the ignore list of a potentional customer.
the word Das is an old word in danish language and basicly also means outhosue, toilet and worse and tbh chatgpt isnt a good thing since if you ask it about the words noob and newbie it says they mean the same and started in the early 90’s which is basicly so wrong that it could be since both words started with BBS which started in the 60’s and they dont mean the same.
if you look the words newbie/noob up on urban dictionary you get the right definition
