Since AH merge some prices have gone crazy. A lot of people are selling their item for cheaper that the vendor price, and I mean the price that the vendor is willing to “buy” that item from you. Some of the items are being sold for like a couple copper margin. I dont know why would someone even waste time with that.
And even if you are selling items for the vendor price, after the AH 5% cut you will be earning less gold than if you just vendored that item.
I guess selling the item on the AH is good for the economy, as the AH is actually reducing the amount of gold thats in the game while vendors are only increasing that amount, but still… why would someone go out of their way to waste their gold.
I guess to help the crafting industry?
The mats you sold to the vendor are “lost”, while the AHd mats are fueling the crafting leveling and industry and a little loss there is acceptable if you will be able to buy the crafted product on the long run (feast for example) or just wants to help the leveling of others so they don’t have to farm and spend their money on overpriced mats, scaring them away from that aspect of the game

I understand what you say but if the AH price is less than the vendor price it indicates a surplus, meaning that this material is probably not greatly desired.
Because some people don’t care enough to check vendor price and just send any crafting material to AH. If you come up with such item, just buy from AH and sell to the nearest vendor and get your profit.
I understand that those items are usually useless or not so needed, but at the same time to me it just doesn’t make sense to sell items so cheap. But thats even more reason to just vendor them, as you might have hard time selling the on the Ah, and you are not just wasting your time but the deposit money…
Sadly no one gives a damn about cooking and fishing. If I can’t sell a crafting material on the auction house I usually try to turn them into something useful, but when it comes to old content and old food recipes, there’s no one who’s interested.
I would suggest you turn your attention away from fishing if you want to make money.
Prices crashed hard, I don’t even bother to sell much anymore. People have gone crazy with the low listings. I’m on a busy realm and we had a competitive market, now it’s worthless.
I am astounded when people list things below vendor price. You are just losing money to list it.
Yes noticed that a long time ago, even these days you cna see people with an item sold around 40 gold and the last one sell it for 6gold for whatever dumb reason.
I assume they ruin the market intentionally to then buy a huge ton and sell it back to make profit.

The AH should have some blocker built it that prevents your from listing it lower than what the vendor would offer you . This would also stop the AH database from being bloated.
