Karazhan and SM content

In the announcement today, it was stated very clearly that Naxxramas will be released in p7, and that this will be the final phase of SoD. Karazhan and SM will release alongside NAxxramas, which means they will be catchup raids at best, and 5 man content at worst. Given that they announced Karazhan Crypts and teased SM at the announcement a year ago, what do you guys think about this?

I think it’s a bit sad, and indicates that blizzard basically just sees SoD as a failed project that is not worth investing into. While it had a lot of potential, it looks like the incompetence of the SoD teams really damaged the project a lot.

I assumed that Karazhan would be an end game raid after Naxxramas. Unfortunately, that sounds a bit disappointing to me. I hope Blizzard can surprise us in a positive way.

No, just a typo. Naxxramas is of course p7, as shown on the road map, and is in the final phase. ^Thanks for correcting that.

Everything else I said is still valid. Naxxramas will be the actual raid in p7, and Karazhan Crypts and SM will be catchup raids or 5 man. Neither of them will be their own raid tier. I think that is lame, especially since they announced Karazhan Crypts when they announced SoD, and now demoted it to some trash raid.

If me putting on glasses could improve SoD, I would have put them on long ago.

Aggrend already confirmed that it will not be ending at the end of the phase 7 but continue your doomposting if you want, let’s see where it goes

We literally just got the announcement that it will end after Naxx, in a statement that their PR team worked on for weeks. We got that exact statement today. The roadmap confirms this. They could not have been clearer, at all. This is what they said will happen.

Aggrend is clueless to the point where it just joggles the noggin that anyone cares about his opinion. I’d hope that when he busts out his takes, everyone just goes “sure, buddy” and ignores him. Maybe they just didn’t tell him yet.

The season end after naxx but not sod … the characters are going to stay on exclusive servers and those servers will continue to be worked on and get support … it’s literally on the last blue post… and yeah sure the lead dev of sod haven’t been informed on the end of his project and work … yeah sure buddy …

So like I said put your glasses on before making a foul out of yourself

OP, Bill will make tons more versions of wow in the future, they will need to milk it for years to come. Hopefully one of those versions will be more your cuppa tea and produced by a great team.

You can absolutely complain when those are justified and confirmed which is not the case with op

First he said that sod is done as p6 which I told him it was not and there was a p7 ) on the road map (that’s the part when I told him to put glasses) which he changed on his post after

Then he speaks about a content we have absolutely any clue about except it’s some pve one’s

Now I tell him that all his assumptions is proved false by the lead dev+ the blue post and I am the foul ?

Again, Blizzard announced, a few hours ago, in a prepared statement, that Naxx is the final phase. There is no more content. Karazhan Crypts and SM are CONFIRMED to not be their own raid tiers. Blizzard said this very clearly. If Metzen himself visited you IRL, and told you, directly to your face, that the roadmap that they published a few hours ago is indeed the real roadmap, would you still not believe it?

Aggrend is so detached from anything concerning SoD that I would not be surprised if he didn’t know. That’s how you fire someone without firing them. You just stop involving them in things. He is clearly not competent, and Blizzard probably wants him gone.

My complaints are justified, and I am neither a foul, nor a fool. In an unforeseen twist of events, it is you who needs glasses. The roadmap was in their stream, for everyone to see, and ended with Naxx.

The announcement that Blizzard made seperately in a blue post only says that they will not delete the characters, and that they will not shut down the servers. This means that SoD will be on life support after p7 launches, and nothing more. We can faceroll Naxx for years to come, but will not get new content, as per their roadmap.

So basically it sucks that Blizzard decided to can SoD after Naxx, even if they keep the servers up. A raid tier for Karazhan and SM would have been nice, but we won’t get it. It sucks especially because they announced Karazhan Crypts a year ago, and now it won’t even be a real raid.

Which part of the 15 sec they spent on the SoD announce are you confused about ? The time the allocated to it speaks volumes in regards to how much time and effort they are putting in into SoD.

what worries me about the SM announcement was the distinct lack of the word “raid”.
they said “instanced content”.
dude i will be so disappointed if the upcoming SM “instanced content” is just another DFC nothingburger.

there better be at least a raid, and preferably a dungeon AND a raid.

They should have released a new raid in phase 4.

They realy used words so you can interpen them realy different.

  1. We get nax and a SM instance and there will be some to do in Deadwinpass.
  2. You can also whit a possetive min think they will not do any more phases, but in p7 you will get nax and a SM type of raid where you can cleanse Ashbringer and in DP you will be able to do Crypts to be able to enter Karazhan.

Im the possetive one and as long as they give us some new and unexplored to do im happy.

Road map puts new content under Phase 7, where we get Naxx and T3.
Deadwing pass keyword was “adventure” so it’s gonna be an incursion stuff, like they are doing in 1KN, Tanaris, UGC and Silithus for AQ.
As from SC stuff, they said “instanced”, not a raid. On top of that you can see that it’s not new assets, so its gonna be DFC like situation, where you get an item to spawn an instance portal. This, coupled with the fact that it’s in the Naxx phase, probably means it’s a 5 man instance

SoD is an experiment for Classic+

They used 2024 as an experiment for leveling content + some ‘‘Classic Classic’’ end game content. Still like +80k characters raiding being a seasonal server.

Imagine they closing this circus having that people on the experimental field when they have the chance to test horizontal progress with new endgame. SoD will have this year as a experimental test for new endgame content.
