Karazhan Crypts Loot Issue

I know Blizzard does not read EU forums, but since I have no access to US ones, here goes: My improvement suggestion to Karazhan Crypts

Issue: Small chance to get bis amulets from first boss.

Why is this an issue:
At this point Karazhan Crypts feels like a slog. It’s too hard to attempt with a complete pug, cause even in MT level gear a group of newer players can make the run 2h long. On other hand with guildies it’s too easy to be really fun but at the same time too hard to just completely chill and talk crap on discord. This makes it REALLY unmotivating to finish as a literal dad gamer with limited gaming time, and who only needs Kaegys choker from there.

The division of 3 bis amulets to same shared boss has also made finding a group a pain. Its unfun having to organise Kaegy HR run, I’d rather just get a cool diverse setup of classes than all caster group.

Solution proposal 1: Have ALL bosses, not just the lich have 3% drop rates for the amulets.

Solution proposal 2: Have Rider 10% drop chance for the amulets (I feel like no-one needs loot from rider at this point any more)

Solution proposal 3. Introduce seal scaling and HM to kara crypts as well, that increases the chance for the BiS items to drop.

Melee amulet dropped the first 2 times i was there.

Did not know it was that rare.

It is rare. The drop rate is below 25%. It means you need to do more than 4 Kaigy runs just to see the neck drop.

But you can forget about it because you will never find 2 more DPS willing to pass on it plus a tank and a healer who are very scarce and want to do their own neck bosses.

In my opinion giving BiS sanctified necks to mutually exclusive bosses with a low drop rate in a dungeon with a lockout was extremely short-sighted and I am surprised people are not complaining about it

I’ve run KC almost daily since release. Missed maybe 2 days. I’ve seen the Kaegy amulet once.

Lost the roll.

Honestly burned out with KC at this point. It’s so unfun.

i’ve seen 5time each amulet haven’t seen a single offhand.

also you can get multiple neck in the same id , i got 2kaygee in one run.

It is RNG yes, but not ALL RNG. It’s very simple actually:

You enter KC. You roll for key that allways drops. The one winning key decides who to release. So let’s say you have 50% chance to get key.

The amulet has 17% drop chance. That makes it 8,5% to get it from first boss. Now you’re most likely rolling at least against 1 other player, so changes of you winning it are less.

Kharon has small chance to drop any loot from Kara. For Kaegys it’s roughly 3%.

And that’s the only item I need. So honestly all my motivation is drained after the first boss. At this point I’m just trying to get to tank Kaigy only runs, cause I don’t want to spend any extra time in that hellhole.

I’m not asking to make it drop all the time.

Just more often that there would be more groups formed for KC, and you would not need to worry about group class comp and HRs.

meawhile the offhand is 5% only on kharon , i wish it had a decent droprate like kaegys.

I agree, that sucks.

I think diversifying Dark Rider Loot table would help with this as well.

Or introducing hard modes to Kara.

I understand its frustrating to run KC without getting what you need.

But why burn yourself doing it? and just go for second bis or something.

The necks are BiS for many healers and at least Feral druids.

And my second BiS is someone elses BiS.

I’m just trying to make the instance more fun to run, is all.

Im not debating if its bis or not.
But surely there must be other, more accessible, options out there.

I refuse to believe that going from bis to a good replacement is gonna affect your performance in any way.

I get that the Kaigy neck is good, but if you want another good option (that is still sanctified) you can grab this:

Costs gold due to the hand in quests sure, but there’s no competition for it.

The difference in stats probably isn’t worth the trouble honestly; unless you have guildies running with you that are helping get the neck (which is what me and my guildies did for our ferals)

My point was more about making the dungeon more fun to run, rather than me having the amulet.

Current way loot is done just motivates HR groups making the grouping up part harder. And running with a pug boring waste of time after the first boss.

Yeah, some people just really like to grieve and gloat here. Just because you happen to have luck, does not mean things should not be improved, when they’re clearly making content harder to run.

And not harder by actually making content hard, but harder by making groups more difficult to form.

agreed. people, seem to also forget that early on. every would roll on it regardless anyway as just for the sanctified buff in naxx it was BiS weather the stats were good for you. one of our rogues runs a healing helm purely cos its now 10% dmg for him. dps running tank itemized gear just for the sanctified bonus.
