Instead of clicking Xs, I press Esc a lot to close frames and such. I would ideally like to keep my current target, or at least my current friendly target, selected despite pressing Esc.
If anyone knows how to achieve this via a macro, addon, or another way, I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
Enable Sticky Targeting.
The description of Sticky Targeting says that it only prevents target deselection when clicking on the game field, so targets can only be cleared by pressing Esc or clicking another target.
However, the existence of this feature suggests that I may not be able to find what I seek, as Esc now seems to be hardcoded to deselect targets.
I’m not sure if there is a workaround, like another key that can close frames or menus.
Ah, my bad. How often are you opening/closing frames in combat?
You could try making a dedicated /targetlasttarget or /targetfriendplayer macro and see if that works as a workaround.
