Hi guys. Im trying to get into end game content for the first time.

Im steuggling with my dps and have been researching online.

i wouldn’t worry about anything beyond working out what the problem is … which, I would guess, is your rotation or talent choices or maybe even spec.
Start at the beginning and work your way forwards as your need for strong dps heightens.
forget all the “omg download this omg keybind that omg like omg lol” and just work on the basics first … your rotation, your stats, your talent build, your gear.
The basics come first, then the fine tuning etc if youre that sort of nerdy loser

Keyboard use usually edges above mouse clicking. With modifiers, mouse-overs additional benefits can help keep it all nice and tidy and reduce the number of keys needed.
EG: Beast Master Hunter = 2 :rofl::rofl:

Seriously. Go with whatever you feel is best for you. As a new player, your muscle memory and repetitive learning will kick in sooner than you think.

If you’ve never used keybinds before try doing a few at a time, get used to using them and keep adding more.

Keybinding is definitely the way to go.

Don’t worry about making 50 keybinds from the start, just keybind a couple spells and get used to pressing them instead of clicking and go from there.
After 2-3 days it should start feeling natural and you’re gonna notice a significant dps increase if that’s what you’re looking for.

I believe Preach has a couple of good videos about starting to keybind and goes more in depth about being a better player overall so you should definitely check him out.

Bind your keys, get used to them a bit and then hide your action bars. This will force you to both memorize the keys and look at the relevant places of the screen instead of your bars.

This approach assumes you’re using something to display your key ability cooldowns somewhere around the middle of your screen, like WeakAuras, which is something you should absolutely use if you want to do good DPS.

Also, rebind your keys from the number keys to something like Q E R T F G etc. You can’t effectively use keys past 5 on the number row and maintain full control over your movement.

Also, I suspect that keybinds aren’t your only problem, judging by your gear and stuff.

Oh, and I really hope you’re using a two-handed melee weapon instead of that gun for DPS as survival…

Keybinds is not a hassle. Clicking is a hassle.

Hunter is fine with clicking

No, it’s not. No class is fine with clicking unless you only do pet battles, lfr or world quests and nothing else.
Keybinding will be always superior.

Keybinding will be better because if you’re someone that uses a computer a lot you most likely know the keyboard layout and don’t have to look for keys to press, you just press them without even looking. With mouse you have to move your mouse over the button and need some precision so mouse won’t come one pixel to far out of the button.

Just start small with your core rotation spells you use often. If you get comfortable with it then add more buttons to keybindings.

NEVER get used to clicking on spells.

ALWAYS KEY BIND.

For me, it’s 1 to 0, as well as Shift+1 to 6 and CTRL+1 6 for abilities.

The ones i use often are smaller numbers. Or they’re my mouse buttons.

The ones with high cooldown or less importance or that you use once and don’t bother with it anymore are further away ones.

And then i place some specific ones in certain areas for all my heroes. For example, They all have blink or mobility on slot 1. They all have interrupt on CTRL+4. They all have Dispel/Debuff/ Remove on CTRL+5, etc.

That makes it unified and easy to use.

Best way to start learning to use keybindings is to do it on a fresh character in my opinion, that way you start off with 2-3 spells/abilities that you use and then you can incorporate more as you gain more abilities.

Why not both? I can switch whenever i feel like it, even in the middle of mythic encounter.

With the exception of WSAD (tho i can move with mouse its not really comfortable).

The second it takes you to find the icon and click on it will reduce your DPS by quite a bit, Don’t forget your mouse has side buttons too.

I just started keybinding, it’s not easy at first, as sometimes my brain stops and forget were i placed what and i start blinking while frot nova’ing while dispelling.

But it’s more easier as i’ve seen playing with keybinds! Do a few of them, like 1-3 for start, and when you learn those add more!

To me, using clicking for most spells is like trying to rub your stomach and pat your head at the same time. Memorised keybindings free up your brain for watching what’s going on in the game and for moving and targeting without having to worry about where your mouse is for button clicks.

im a clicker… but the few times i raided strong i had to keybind. So go directly to keybind and as someone told before hide the toolbar to memorize them.

I shimmered into a pack of mobs yesterday, ooops :joy: we wiped hahahah
