Keystone depletion

Can we have keystone not deplete anymore? It does not help anyone, just builds up frustration. It makes no sense to have my key deplete over and over again, because pugs just quit whenever something goes wrong, or we are unable to continue the key because of connection issues.

Dont pick up pugs that a likely to quit then ? I will give you example . Instead picking up people with 3k score and 270 itlv WHO will for sure leave with slightest mistake pick people with 1500 score and 255 itlv WHO will stary there though wipes.

But lets be honest. Like majority of people in pugs you want to get boosted :slight_smile:

People would just keep restarting if there was no depletion for failing. I think that would be abused.

I’m not sure that’s something they’d want to do.

yeah dude. i took all kind of players in my group. let me tell you what. 1500 rio most of the time barelly understand the mechanics. if i was them, i wouldnt sign for 19-20s. second, can i have your crystal ball? the one that you look into to see if people are likely to quit? 3rd, i just wnat my key to not get depleted. if i want to get boosted, i either pay for one, or call my friends. pls stay on the side if you don’t bring anything to the topic

Then make it to not deplete if you complete the dungeon, even if it’s not timed. Even so, it doesn’t make any sense. SO what if irestart? Yeah, i’ve done a mistake, i try it again. If i feel the level is too highn for me, i drag myself to oribos and deplete it. After working to push my key, it feels bad to have it go down, especially for the reasons above, the ones you have no control over.

That wouldn’t really help the OP, who is complaining of leavers.

I have no objection to them making it all easier but I don’t think they will.

They have made improvements over time, like we don’t have to re-run a dead key to reactivate it like we originally had to in Legion, then run it again to try and time it. People generally just considered a key dead at that point. However now a key just simply depletes one level.

I do like that we can reroll keys as well if we time them and that the NPC in Oribos lets us lower them instead of having to run in the dungeon and out again. I don’t like that our key level depletes over time if we take a break from the game or are simply away for a week.

As for the depletion part. On one side M+ isnt designed for pugs. Its designed for coordinated groups. So running it with a pug is ones own risk. Technically one could just remove it since the level of abuse isnt that high given loot ilvl stops at 15 anyway. Unless the “additional loot roll at +XX” still applies (i havent paid attention to that at all in shadowlands) but even then meh.

Problem is that it mainly boils down to people. Different routes (more or less). Different playstyles. Different approaches. Different attitude (one admits doing mistakes. The other blames others for his own mistakes and so on njada njada). And that cant really be fixed.

When playing in close call difficulties you should consider playing with people you know not random people.

You’re literally gambling when pugging high keys, gambling can and will result in failed attempts, if you want to make sure that’s limited find a group of people to play with.

I have no problems in pugs. Did 15 m+ this week and all was in time. 8 on my main and The rest on my alts.

We had an omegawipe in the streest +20 I did, urh didn’t die and we all got gripped into the slam on the menagerie boss. The whole group instantly died, people still stayed.

I just do weeklies and we timed ours but I am not someone who cares beyond filling my vault.

OP was talking about 19-20s and above. He didnt specify that in his opening post though. Up to 15s its relatively okay. Ive seen stuff tho (and the reason why i join weekly no leaver keys. Yes they are horrible, you will wipe, but at least people stay and you can eat something while playing the game onehanded and nobody gives a rats)

But the higher you go the more likely you are to encounter cough cough people because its rating they are after. Not vault slots.

I have fun in m+. I feel it is The only fun left in wow. Raids er Way to difficult now for The little gear it drops.

Each to their own. Raiding is probably my favourite activity and I do Mythic Plus for the vault and to play with friends.

just because it doesnt happen to you, that doesnt mean it doesnt happen at all. i just got out of a 20 gambit, 16 min on the timer, tank dies on the last pack before 2nd boss, healer effs off. key depleted, im back at 19. i try to get my 3k rating, and im afraid i dont stand a chance in this rythim. i see people discussing about playing with friend or whatever. its not about that. if you work to push your key to a level, it makes no sense to get depleted once stuff happens. it’s not about boosting, not about rating, not about the key level you run. if you are a player that can do maximum 10’s, or 25’S, it doesnt matter. once you push to a certain level, it should come to you to decide if the level is too high for you to try it or deplete it.

Guess you weren’t around for the torghast stuff at the start? People thought just because they’ve unlocked layers, it means they should be able to do them and they whined and cried until it was nerfed into the ground.

I don’t get this argument. So what if they would do that? Blizzard stated M+ run is like boss encounter (that’s why you can’t change specs, talents, gear during the run) - which raid encounter forces you to go back to previous boss? None.

We tried HoA 20 yesterday. Friend who never gets internet connection issues just got them on this run - we could hear him on discord so it wasn’t completely his internet problem. After 2 minutes one pug decided to leave so it was pointless to continue and here we have key 19 we have to repush to 20 and tbh we lost urge to do that.

People here overuse “abuse” word:

  • no pause in M+ because people would use it to take breaks to decide what to do next, the horror, game would be broken, score wouldn’t mean anything, fire mage would be unplayable, earth will explode
  • key depletion has to stay because people would just restart their run if they didn’t succeed - oh my, that sounds horrible, not that we could do that for 17 years with boss fights

Mindset of these forums is set in stone - if solution would fix 99 problems but create 1 small one, BEGONE
