Got S3 SL on DH đ«€ S4 SL on DK and S1 DF on paladin.
I mean, is there any reason why this is not account bound? Itâs a great achievement I wouldnât bother to do with ALL my chars tbh.

I donât change main but many of my friends do. So they end up with this large mix of portals across many characters, it seems a flawed method making them per character.

My shaman I played in MoP is still lvl 30ish or something. It has all the MoP portals because thatâs the char I did CMs on. Itâs kind of laughable, really. They should be account-wide.
From Shadowlands dungeons, this character has the portals but not my alliance or horde priest. My horde priest has portals from season 4 but lol, I donât play it any more.

The portals are such a âMehâ reward, theyâre not even worth pushing for imo. Since once the season is over, I doubt Iâll ever need to be heading back to those dungeons any time soon.
But I understand how theyâre a Quality of Life improvement for the players who like to do Higher Keys, while the season is active. It means they can quickly move to the dungeon and be ready to go.
So in that case, I can understand why Blizzard would want to make you have to unlock them on each character⊠but on the other hand, who cares, theyâre kind of lame anyway, just let the people who have earnt them, use them.

Portals should be account bound, makes it a much more interesting reward for the lower RIO brackets and just as interesting for the high (that already get them unlocked on all their chars).
Accountbound is quality of life and just a win/win all around.

My DK has the WoD-portals⊠But now Blood is ruined so I donât play DK anymore⊠Really sucks
The only problem with this is that when youâre pushing and leave a key because it canât be timed nobody has portal off CD since it only resets upon finishing a dungeon so you end up having to fly there anyway.
We are talking about getting portal account bound, so all characters got it. Not the pros/cons of the CD.

You were talking about that. I was replying to a post about how portals are a QoL for people who push higher keys and I was explaining how they really donât matter in the end.
For me it makes no difference between accountwide or not.
Sure I can agree that the portals donât matter much. Having the portal is no big gain, one way or another. We simply want it account-wide because it is so minor and its a very niche use. Think of it in the tune of win/win:
- Casuals get something easy that is ârewardingâ, outside the powerlevel structure of the game.
- The more hardcore gamers, will get a neat thing for free.
- Maybe it is used once a year, maybe never, maybe after every dungeon, it is just neat anyhow.
Fair that it makes no difference for you. But I hope you see why it is wanted as a minor boon and QoL. Have a great coming weekend!

Iâm all for QoL, I just explained why the portals as a push mechanic doesnât matter that much as youâll end up with portal on CD and still have to fly.

When i noticed that they had a cooldown, i facepalmed very hard.
Gotta be the dumbest reward ever,
The cooldown should reset when you complete the dungeon. That was the behaviour in SL, and Iâm fairly certain this is still the case in DF.

Yes portals always reset upon M+ completion. Even a different one.
Well quality of life for the current season but also they can be useful for farming as well. Think of Halls of Valor portal for example. If I want to farm some mog in the future I can teleport there straight instead of flying 4 minutes to there.
Once the season is gone also the Valdrakken portal are gone too.

itâs insanely stupid, the whole portal policy.
from the fact that you cant use them on alts, where in theory thereâd be more use for them than on the char that earned it.
and another aspect: i had a theory, the dungeon portals would be great as world quest starting pointsâŠtp to azure span, do wq, tp to nokhud, do wq there, etc etc
but nooooooâŠthereâs an 8 hr cd.

But they do if youâre a push group and you have the sense to have 2 people use their portals and summon the others any time you go to a key that you know is a âmight abandon this and do something else insteadâ.
I agree. The default for most things should be account bound. There are times where things should be character specific but they should be the exception rather than the rule these days.

Absolutely no. I have all Shadowlands and Dragonflight portals on my DK but on my rogue only Dragonflight because I didnât do 20s on it last expansion.
Portals should be account wide.
