They’ve made him representative of disabled people but also couldn’t really pull it off because of his magical abilities, so you get this strange nonsensical abomination of a guy who can make himself float effortlessly having to sit in a wheelchair.
It’s dreadful writing, but nothing less than I expect from Blizzard these days. Both Metzen and Samwise had to basically give up, and they have both stated this publicly.

Yeah I agree, there’s better ways to do representation, but this ain’t it lol. The guy could probably make himself an Arcane exoskeleton but he goes with a silly arcane wheelchair instead? Ok man.

Turalyon is one of the better alliance characters prob second to his wife
I don’t like how dumb they made her. She acts like an Orc Warrior but she’s an ancient Elf Ranger.
And does so because he finds it “comfortable”.
Meanwhile I get healed from a hamstring all day long.
It’s just ridiculous.
Like for old orcs who live in a culture that shuns magic and don’t care about the disabled it’s a plotpoint that works.
It does not work for Khadgar.

He needs a floating wheelchair , because otherwise , how else would he get to the Ringing Deeps … The elevator is out .
Plus a disabled old man in a wheelchari falling down an elevator shaft sound fun only at first …
Also he probably can’t float like Xal’atath , because :
1: how else would we know he is crippled .
2: it would be too conspicuous and we would all understand that Khadgar is dead and it’s just Xal in disguise trolling everyone .
So there you have it : a floating wheelchair .
Next up I am sure Turalyon will become evil , or dead, or both . We need the throne freed for Anduin and we need to flip the switch on Alleria so she becomes Banshee Queen 2.0 .
We can’t kill Arathor because he is still young and and can yet marry a middle aged crippled black male Arathi with Kulthiran Skin .
