Kicked from a BG -> Deserter debuff?

I was just kicked from a BG even though I was participating the whole time. And now I have the Deserter debuff…

I didn’t Desert the game… why do I have the debuff?

Leaving a BG early either voluntarily or getting kicked always triggers the debuff.

Been that way for a few years now.

It depends on how you define “participating”.

Some people find joy reporting other players as afk and getting them booted

Hey Shámbulánce,

Being removed from a group will result in the Deserter debuff. This is to prevent players from being AFK and forcing others to kick them if they don’t like the dungeon or battleground they’re in, for example.

What about players who are injustly kicked? I fell off a ramp as a tank and was removed from the group. Now I have to wait at level 79 for 30 minutes. And I already have limited time playing.

Please don’t necro topics.

This one was about the Deserters from PVP which grants 15 minutes. The other is from PVE/Dungeons which is 30 minutes, as for “unjustly” kicked:

Edit: See below

Unjustly here is very subjective, and customer support will not be the judge of who does or doesn’t deserve to stay in a group. We would also only have your side of the story, and it’s entirely possible that other things happened that led to your exclusion from the group.

That being said, and as always, you can provide feedback about the kick functionality and the deserter debuff to our developers. Only they would have the ability to change how the game works:

That being said, good luck with your next groups, I hope that everything goes well!
