Killing anything without tyrant in PvP?

So fellow demo locks, if you are in a situation where your tyrant is off cd, how do you do any DAMAGE? Shadows bite succubus build was great because you could actually do decent damage with demon bolt, right now it feels like I do absolute dog shift dmg outside of my tyrant.
And against melee the not top tier mobility of this class makes it a lot more frustrating to dish out damage.

I can kill people without tyrant, but for this i use every tool in my disposal, like Ren’dorei teleport + Ripple in space, to avoid damage. I use Shivarra with Pleasure through Pain PvP talent, and it gives me more fluid combat experience.

Sad thing that for me, in order to survive i have to use non warlock defence tools, because core warlock defence mechanisms like soul leech or healthstone are absolutely unreliable in PvP.

This is not a feeling unfortunately, out of tyrant we do dogshxt dmg, the only thing I tried that works is to old on big bladestorm and setup it with cyclotronic trinket in a setup.
Usually you got trinket and or Def cd and you can kill next tyrant. (try to play maledic if you have it).

VS melee it’s pretty much insta loose they are way too strong except rogue are beatable.

Going to give shadowbite succubus spec a new try once i manage to get gear with both baleful amd shadows bite traits, 15-20k demonbolts might actually make som difference, but here is hoping I can get my hands on the gear before this expac ends.

meanwhile as destro you just sit there spamming 80k+ chaos bolts all the time no problemo gigantic brain balancing from the developers tbh

I think the wotlk version of chaos bolt was the absolute best. 12 second cd, does immense damage (ignores absorb effects) and that was it, it was not your only way to deal any significant damage as incinerate, conflagrate and immolate also had their roles. The chaos bolt version that also ignored resilience might have been a bit off the top tho.

I don’t remember it doing massive damage. The best thing about it was that it bypassed shields etc. The fact that it bypassed resilience wasn’t true, either.

I did back in season 5 one shot a fully pvp geared warrior, but this was when it ignored resilience. As stated in wowpedia, [Patch 3.1.3] (2009-06-02): This spell no longer ignores damage reduction effects of the target, meaning it did in fact for a while ignore dmg reduction like resilience.

As with massive damage I mean, about 70% health at least.

It didn’t ignore resilience. The dev team only discovered it didn’t when they looked into hotfixing it ignoring resilience, only to discover that it never did.
I’m pretty sure there was a blue post about it, or it came up in an interview at some point.

Damage reduction cooldowns and resi was ignored, I am positive about it. Got myself also almost oneshotted a couple of times with full pvp gear if a warrior spell reflected the spell.

That’s the thing, though. Everyone thought it did, even the dev team, until they tried to hotfix it
