Killing blows

Anyone know how these work in BG’s please -I killed rogue in Coldtooth mine but didn’t apparently get the killing blow…does that mean he committed suicide?
I did ask about this in the Bg forum but nobody answered

Source of damage that kills the player, aka brings it to 0 health = Killing blow goes to the source

Might be. Doesn’t matter how much total damage you did to this player, if he had a trinket that damages owner or you used some reflect damage item which killed him then the damage that killed him is considered his own so no killing blow for you. Also he might be a necrolord rogue, there is an ability in one of the mediums that helps you survive fatal damage but then kills you rather fast, in this case killing damage would also be his own.

Thanks for the replies

You don’t get the killing blow if he’s a Nightfae dying in his pod.

In BG’s players are often riddled with DoT’s and other effects, kills could very easily be credited to someone else even when it looks like you got it.

It’s not a metric people common look at though. Damage Done is much more important, some exceptions such as a Rogue out alone at bases but generally speaking I don’t track my killing blows.

Could be credited to someone else but considering there was just me n him…
