Knockback abilities need nerfs

I’ll say right away that I think PvP in this game is absolutely broken, which is already in the terminal stage of cancer. Healers that need to be killed by raids, billions of trillions of control abilities in arsenal of some classes. Columns licking tactics. And much more. But there is one thing that annoys me the most - various kinds of knockback abilities. These are absolutely imbalanced abilities that are almost impossible to counter. Of course, we are not talking about the arena, but about the open world. And I mean abilities that knock back entire groups of players with one click of a button. Without casting, without preparation, without warning. Just 1 click - and an entire group of enemy players flew off a cliff. In the best case, they will have time to use something or press something to save themselves from a fatal fall. But in most cases, this leads to mass deaths. Just with the press of 1 button. Someone will say that a number of classes have protective abilities against knockback. And that’s true, but the problem is that knockback abilities have no casts or warnings. You simply can’t physically know that it’s about to be used. You can only activate your psi-abilities and predict the future - this is the only chance to guess and protect yourself. And this is complete crap.

But what pissed me off even more was some monk ability that is not even displayed in the character’s action log. I have no idea what it is or what it’s called. Some kind of throw over yourself. Also instant, without casts and without warnings. No recovery time or with a very short recovery time. And the most disgusting thing is that it cannot be countered at all, since it works even with active immunity to knockback. What the hell? Who designed this and what kind of crap is in this person’s head? Just now in the game some monk just threw me off a cliff several times - and I could not counter it at all, playing as DK, even when I was using Death’s Step, which gives the character immunity to knockback effects.

And many people in the game answer me when I understand this topic that DK has an imbalanced death grip. But these abilities cannot be compared at all, since it is purely physically impossible to kill an enemy with a death grip in 1 click. Death grip only pulls to itself and only if DK is on the ground. That is, DK cannot even drag the one who threw him off the cliff, since for some unknown reason, death grip cannot be pressed in the air.

As a result, I would like to propose to remove all this cancer abilities with knockback to hell. But in this case, it would be logical to at least add 2+ second casts to such abilities, so that the enemy at least has a chance to prepare and defend himself. In their current form, all of these abilities are complete crap, which breaks an already broken and unbalanced system even more.

If I were playing rogue, I would keep quiet about it. One of the most cheatable classes in the game, which was given almost everything. Very strong save abilities, billions of different control types, ultra-mobility and the ability to hide for an unlimited amount of time if they suddenly run into someone who can kick their a$$. It is clear that this problem is of little relevance for rogues with the presence of shadow step. But there are classes in the game that the developers have deprived of the entire set of imbalanced skills that can only be imagined.

Knockbacks are obnoxious but in rated battlegrounds, not open world. If they bother you so much in open world then just buy few stacks of gliders and use them everytime someone tries to knock you off. You are welcome.

Knockbacks are for the most fine, but the fact that you’re complaining about world PvP, which has NEVER been balanced, and NEVER should be taken into account when balancing, is absolutely hilarious.

Firstly, shadowstep is a basic rogue talent. All rogue specializations can take it without exception. Secondly, in addition to shadowstep, outlaws also have a chain, which also helps to avoid death from falling in case of being knocked back. And PvP should be balanced. Only immoral people who enjoy playing unbalanced classes can enjoy unbalanced PvP. But I’m not surprised that a player playing for a rogue writes something like this to me. A class that sucks in arenas makes up for its worthlessness in the open world.

And for those who like to drag around extra junk to compensate for obvious developer errors. Like gliders. You’re welcome - eat this crap like this. Firstly, it doesn’t solve the existing problem. Secondly, it doesn’t help in a situation where, for example, you’re fighting for an airdrop - and you’re thrown off the chest. Yes, you can use a glider, but while you’re flying - the chest will already be opened. And all thanks to one magic imbalance button. If you react fast enough and use glider immediately after knockback you will complete negate knockback. Takes some skill but with practice it’s not that hard.

i mean, the greatest counter to knockback will always be awareness and positioning, having said that, most classes wont die from fall dmg, some classes will counter the knockback, and some good players will even predict them

if you are talking about something that has barely any counterplay and mechanic, you might wanna look up “stuns”

Firstly, you obviously don’t play rogue, Outlaw lost Step two weeks ago. Goes to show what you know, which isn’t a lot. Besides that, so many classes have solutions to knocks, it’s barely an issue, and if it is, you probably positioned like a dummy.

It’s also HILARIOUS that you can’t be bothered to spend a little Gs on gliders, I even believe you can buy them with Marks of Honor. What, you against gear and enchants as well? I bet you are.

PvP shouldn’t be balanced around world PvP or 1v1’s, it’s simply not possible to balance out all aspects of PvP.

But if you’re so against knocks, surely we should also remove Grip from DKs, it has the potential to solo carry some games with proper management of the ability.

Your answers do tell me though, that you’re probably a very new player, and if not new, then not very good.

It’s infinitely more difficult than just pressing 1 button and killing or neutralizing a WHOLE GROUP of enemies.

Stun can’t kill a whole group of players with 1 button press. It’s the same kind of crowd control as stagger, fear, terror, blind and more. There are way too many of those things in the game in my personal opinion, but they can’t just kill a huge number of enemies with one button press. Knockback effects, especially mass knockbacks, are really a “kill all” button. It’s completely unbalanced and NEEDS a nerf. And about positioning. Any tips on how a melee class should position themselves in a 10vs10 or 20vs20 or even 40vs40 fight? Especially when the fight is on a small patch of terrain on a cliff edge or a bridge? I regularly see dozens of players just flying in all directions. And no one likes that except for a few idiots who just enjoy pissing off and annoying other people.

Yes, I am a new player with 43k AP (actually 44k), with server first achievements and much more. And I don’t understand anything about the game. I wanted to answer something, but I don’t care. Answering a rogue about world PVP is not respecting yourself.

It is possible to achieve better balance, but with more talented/professional developers.

If you’re so good at the game, I don’t get why you’re crying about a mechanic that’s been in there for at least 16 years.

My guess is that you’re a PvE Andy that never got over the anxiety of delving into PvP before now, and good for you for overcoming it. But you’re literally crying about nothing.

It is absolutely wild to see someone boast so much about their achievements, while simultaneously being too greedy to buy gliders, or think some classes should just be caved in skill-wise because he plays a wheelchair.

Good luck with it bro, I’ll continue to laugh at you crying about knockbacks until the end of time. Maybe I’ll even make a really annoying alt, a Dracthyr Mage, so I can knock you around myself, haunting your every moment of world PvP.
