Blizzard the Event is a bit EH, Horde win all the time that’s fair idc tbh still fun I love PVP, but please your AFK system is REALLY getting bad, there has been AFking bots all day last night and today, Horde have very few of them, last night I had about 10 afking bots jumping around and we reported them AFK sure but the Kick system for PVP need to change, it’s stupid that people can stand still doing 0 dmg, healing etc and be rewarded with XP or honor, please consider changing your Penalty system for PVP…cause if we didn’t have 10+ Afk bots might have a slightly more advantage, and Yes some of you will tell me that just report them AFK we do we get new ones, or the one you report stand near a graveyard so their de-buff goes away…
Someone who does 0 damage and 0 healing for an entire bg should get 0 honor and 0 XP.
When bickering in /bg chat is not enough, here comes the forum posts.
Alcotan is probably one of the AFKers.
But yes it’s ridiculous. I announce the AFKers every BG and to be fair, quite often they get enough votes to be instantly removed from the BG (a barrage of insults via /w soon follows).
On the otherhand, given the number of sympathizers for the AFKers, I often get vote-kicked myself for calling them out.
It would be nice if there was a hidden criteria to receive experience based upon activity. Certainly those that spend a very long time in the BG, doing 0 damage and healing, should receive nothing.
won 2 out of 3 yesterday on my Alliance toon with about 5 afkers in the base.
It’s all about timing the gy captures.
And kiting the elites.
The system works fine. The problem is that it doesn’t work great in Korrak’s revenge.
It’s easy to get into combat and remove the inactive debug.
In other BG’s there are no npc’s but here there are loads. Attacking some trash npc will remove the debuff. I have seen many afkers move to balinda/galv because of the easy access to trash npc’s.
I initially thought it was only for actual player combat. But any combat will do basically.
Just don’t let it get to you. focus on winning. Report them for away. And at the end of the game announce them one more time. People tend to report them sooner at those moments from my experience.
I got reported myself for calling out Afkers earlier xD it’s not really that easy
Yup same here, I queue as merc usually and I’ll always call out those who are AFK behind DB mountain. Often times i get instant vote-kicked for it.
It does depend on your team as well. And that something we just don’t have any influence over
This has been mentioned before, but don’t call afkers out loud in general chat but call them out in /s “say” when you are standing somewhere in attack, for example guarding tower or gy. That point you are surround by people who are activelly playing and trying to win, and those who are afk are no where near you and cannot see you talk. Also, if you see same person in many games, always going to stand on vandars roof in start, having scoreboard full of zeros and never getting kicked (because using map flaw to stay invis for many), use manual report function for cheating. That way GMs will get report of that person, they can investigate and if they see that person indeed has been abusing map flaw for afk they can give proper punishment and remove any gains they have got from exploiting.
Yep. This tends to work the best from my experience as well.
Besides the fact that is, what, the 809th post regarding this exact topic…?
The afk shameing in KR has become a bloody witchhunt. Ive been booted multiple times for taking a wizz or fixing myself a drink in a +1 hour game.
“Omg that guy hasnt moved in over 3 seconds! Torches! Angry mobs! Kick!”
Take a breather. Its just a game.
This has happened to me too. Get killed, get a 30 seconds counter, get up to get a snack or a drink and find myself out of the game
It feels sorta unfair that some people can afk for an entire game but you get reported for not moving for a couple of minutes.
Still, I prefer teams report afk’ers than just let people leech honor and xp for doing nothing.
I’ve won every AV as tank and got my mount sourrounded by levelers getting one hit by elites. But hey, I couldn’t care less about AFKrs since I honestly never noticed them.
But really, you spend your time hunting down afkers? What an outstanding citizen, you sound like those old hags looking from their windows all day hoping to find a sorry excuse to complain at someone’s behavior.
You clearly have a nice nose to catch afkers though.
The best tip i can give would be, don’t do korraks revenge as alliance if you want to have fun in the bg
Korrak’s Revenge / Alterac Valley isn’t actually fun to play. 99% of the people who play there only want to level up alts quickly. The fastest way for getting XP, both for the winning and the losing team, is to just end the games as quickly as possible, rather than dragging them out.
To the AFK Gestapo: the AFK’ers are actually getting you faster XP, so stop reporting them! If you want to play serious PvP, then don’t queue up for this garbage battleground in the first place. Stop being destructive and just let people level their alts quickly.
I farm rep on my Horde hunter, even though I hate Horde, but win does give more rep. I focus on AFKers when I reach Alliance base, while I can not reach them myself, my pet kills them alone. At least very minor punishment for this trash type of players.
I will continue to advocate for the kicking of AFK players from my BGs. I queue as a mercenary for the Alliance, and I’ve maintained a near 50% win ratio by doing so. I’m sure many of the Alliance on my winning games will say that it was an enjoyable experience.
If players cannot stand the fact that others may actually want to try to play and win the battleground, they should find an alternative source of XP such as questing.
There’s no free lunch around here - if we’re going to win the battleground, you’re either going to contribute in some form, or you’re going to get kicked.
Defending AFK’rs? sheeshj!
And not with a good argument either.
I’ve been looking at the XP gains at 60 lately and destroying a tower gives 10% the XP of a win. Or 20% of a loss. Taking all four towers before losing almost doubles the XP you gain on that loss.
People who defend a tower are not dragging out the game by more than the marginal time it takes to kill an additional marshal. Therefore, taking and defending turrets is more efficient than AFKing for XP.
Moreover, it gives you a shot at winning, which gives twice as much XP as losing.
Efficiency is not an argument for AFKing. The only thing efficiency is an argument for is neglecting defense of your own bunkers/graveyards in favor of a larger offense.
What’s funny though is I myself been kicked isntantly many times for attempting to make the bgs better by telling the group about Afkers but ending up getting reported myself and kicked, so basically stopped doing so, blizz need a better way of kicking, obviously should not be allowed to play a game and stand still without any attacking, all u have to do by avoid getting kicked is Press space.
