so, icy veins have a guide on arcane kyrian and there’s something I don’t understand
If Arcane Power is not available, cast Rune of Power if available;
Cast Radiant Spark
Cast Touch of the Magii, if available;
Cast Arcane Powerr and any other cooldowns, like Racial abilities and on-use trinket, if available; Cast Arcane Blast 5 times
Cast Arcane Barrage I immediately after finishing the 5th Arcane Blast st. As long as you ensure you cast Arcane Barrage together with the 5th Arcane Blast, both will fire at the same time and both will benefit from the final charge of Radiant Spark .
radiant spark buffs damage of 4?
The target takes 10% increased damage from your direct damage spells, stacking each time they are struck. This effect ends after 4 spells.
So… why do they say to cast AB 5 times? Is there something I’m missing? xd
as long as you queue arcane barrage right after the fifth arcane blast both spells gain increased spell damage from the last stack of radiant spark. so in reality radiant spark buffs five spells for arcane. this interaction still works perfectly fine, but it’s no longer worth it because the kyrian covenant leggo doesn’t work the same way and would only empower the arcane blast and not the barrage after it.
so with the covenant leggo you’ll cast four arcane blasts, do a short pause and then cast your barrage. you have to do a short pause, because if the barrage was queued right after the fourth arcane blast it would behave in the same way - it would only benefit from the third stack of radiant spark, and you would lose 10% spell damage on your barrage.
ok, so this is a glitch nobody would know without some theorycrafting. nice game they have here.
anyway, i cant go kyrian until i get some other tier pieces - arcane harmony goes on shoulders and hands… the 2 set pieces I have so now i’m goingwith method’s advice of necrolord (emeni). works nice. better than frost for me in M+ so far
Why only arcane? (Just curious)
I played kyrian frost in S1 a lot, and it always worked as 1 RS charge per instance of damage, no matter the timing.
I chained Glacial Spike and Ice Lance (or Ice Nova). So, GS always hits last due to slow animation time, so it always consumes 4th stack, while IL hits 0.1s earlier and consumes 3d stack.
If you zoom and slowmo, you can even see the process of IL consuming the 3d stack, turning 4th on and the GS consuming 4th.
let me be specific: radiant spark works this way for all specs that have their spell damage calculated the moment a spell is casted, and not when a spell hits their target. if spell damage is calculated on the same game tick before the radiant spark debuff is removed, it just works. it would also work for fire with fireball → instant pyroblast, or theoretically with a balance druid casting wrath → starsurge.
frost is an exception because frost has it’s spell damage calculated the moment a spell hits. the spec is unique in this way, and as far as i know the only caster spec to work like this. there’s a good reason though, and it’s to make shatter combos work properly. can’t really do a frostbolt → ice lance into a frozen target if the nova breaks as soon as your frostbolt leaves your hands.
