Honestly the Kyrian Covenant ability only seems good if you cant generate enough shards on your own which…i usually have too many shards! i have looked at all the Covenant abilities and i think “Necro” seems the strongest 4 lil chaos bolts every 45 secs ? thats something you can add to a steady rotation
As for soulbinds …they will change and be nerfed buffed…go with the covenant you like for visual/story or the ability which suits your playstyle
Then they just need to deactivate those abilities and soul binds in instanced raids, dungeons, m+ and pvp.
If you dont like it …then you are welcome to play something more to your enjoyment, But dont go around ruining stuff for other people with constant complaining.
Go get a refund for SL and spend it on a game you enjoy instead 
I love the game but there improvements to do. I comodino only about the “you need to do pve to be competitive in pvp” that is the wrong way
I don’t understand why the abilities being locked to covenants makes it “fun” your free to choose whatever convenant ability you like if they let everyone optionally swap between them at will as a seperate thing to the covenants.
It doesn’t ruin anything and it quite litterally doesn’t make sense on a realistic level. I feel like people have some sorta expectation this will change player behaviour 🤷🤷

I’ve been going for Night Fae since announced but I’ve been messing with demonolgy recently and really enjoying it so may opt for necrolord instead. If I do stick with afflion I will be going night fae even if kyrian is showing up to be the strongest option as I don’t like the look of them for a lock anyway.
Night Fae doesn’t look better on a warlock, if you want to choose for the looks it is more necro and second is Venthyr.
Fite me, I’ll put you in a shallow grave!

I like the soul rot and ID is a strong combo
Yeah I realise night fae might not look the best for warlock either but I’m taking as a kind of using life energy to fuel my magic/ death is as much a part of life as living is…if that makes any sense. Still I’m keeping kyrian for if / when I level my priest

That I’d the only reason why NF fits lock. But Kyrian should say no to locks, just makes no sense
i am doubting atm between Kyrian and Venthyr
i really do like the look of Venthyr ability in M+ as Affliction but for raids it is not that good
The Kyrian class ability being a single target spell and Venthyr being aoe
then there is the soul binds which both a quite good for locks on Kyrian and Venthyr , Kyrian giving Mastery and Venthyr giving Haste
as a cosmetic / what suits our class best… then Kyrian is a heck no …
i mean Angel Warlocks “shrugs”

I think i will go NF just for Story reason, but I’m a bit disappointed by the Soul Binds. There more heal than dmg.
Kyrian is BiS for too many specs at the moment, therefore, I expect them to tune it down a little bit. Pelago’s Let Go of the Past was slightly nerfed few days ago but it is hard to say how much this will effect to different specs.
once the sims are in, if there’s not that big of a difference between best covenant and night fae, i’m instantly going night fae.
i don’t even care that it has zero synergy with all of the specs, their event/transmog etc look so cool.
also, nature school with an instant mobility spell? sign me up fam

it has good synergy with aff as the soul rot can be extended with dark glare.
Vile taint + Soul rot gonna have some nice synergy in M+
think the big question will be is, will AFF be the spec to use xD… theres a chance we may see Destro rise again…
