At the start of Dragonflight we got quite a lot more Artisans Mettle as one off than we have in War Within. Enough to at least make some of the top end proffession equipment and buy a few recipes.
War Within feels so limiting with the amount of Acuity you get. Being able to do the patron orders is luck based on having the right recipes/specs to fufill them, some of them are ridiculously expensive too. I have one I’ve ignored this week that I could make but the amount of materials required would be around 100k.
That and with the lack of a weekly quest and the odd dragonshard we had in DF it just feels so limiting in what you can do.
I understand that the acuity from first crafts and first gathers were removed to stop shuffling, also the recent removal of artisans from dark moon faire. But the one off bag of 350 doesn’t make up for this.
Either we need a more reliable source of weekly acuity or the cost of Acuity needs to drop drasticaly.
To add insult to injury; I went to recraft a basic (green) tool and wasn’t expecting it to cost acuity (as the base craft costs none) and so clicked recraft without checking and only noticed after it cost 20 acuity to recraft a basic tool! Why in the flames would recrafting an item with no base craft acuity cast suddenly cost acuity to recraft? That’s insane
Agree.
I’m at a point where I don’t know where to get any anymore.
The recipes from patrons require me to be specced into a tree I’m not, or have bought a recipe that cost more than the Acuity I’m left with at this point.
Do these patron requests randomize again at some point? Because at the reset this week, I got a couple more, but most of them are the same from last week.
There needs to be something. Else my crafting profession becomes something I do every other week. That can’t be the plan.
I’m hard capped by the lack of Acuity also. Can’t buy recipes, can’t craft anything really worthwhile, and that is just for one of my two professions (haven’t really tackled enchanting yet).
It would be nice if the Patron Work Orders yielded substantially more than they do. Then again, those have their own problems. I’m just farming another 7500 honor so I can buy the second PvP pattern I need for patron orders.
I’m finding that with multiple professions atm. They either want me to spend a fortune on things like the profaned tinderboxes, want ranks higher than I can make, are from parts of the trees I’ve not been able to get to yet or simply don’t have the recipe.
3 weeks into the expansion and some retrospect. The answer is simple, remove Artisans Acuity or the equivalent in the next expac. It’s too late now for War Within.
Reasonings:
Artisans Mettle in DF short term allowed people to get their tools/KPs/Recipes etc faster and make bank. This encourages the shuffle so degenerate play goblins can take advantage. Not fun.
Long Term however its only purpose was to turn it into the reagent to make high ranked crafts easier and make gold, long term it was just a weekly cap so once a week you could make some extra gold more easily. That’s fine.
In War Within concentration fills the long term purpose. Once everyone has their recipes and tools , AA is useless. So there’s only the degenerate play left for the short term.
So in Midnight and future expansions what they need to do is keep Concentration and Bin Artisans Acuity (or future expansion equivalent). If blizz really wants to keep recipe and KPs artificially gated; do it behind renown/rep for KPS and high investment KPs for recipes.
Use different herbs when you are experimenting…
AA is fine in my opinion, you can use a support profession for AA. Anyway, it would be silly to think that you can have two serious professions at the beginning of the expansion. It was very easy to plan beforehand
