Lack of Tanks? no.. you just want to be carried

recently they has been many posts crying out about lack of tanks this season and i dont think the problem is that there are lack of tanks. It’s peoples attitudes towards ILVL.

I’m gearing my second and getting into low keys to gear is horrible; although my RIO is much higher then most of the keys im trying, im +2’ing these as a DK Tank … you just get declined because groups just look at ILVL, yes im abit low i guess 600? all these groups want is to be carried at 4-6 key range.

it’s really annoying.

There is a lack of tanks in that range basically because people rather gear in delves then try there luck in 8s so nothing to do with what you assumed.

Ah so my assumption is wrong and yours is right?

Have you got any data to backup your claims

how would that work when u need crests from 4-7 to upgrade Hero track anyway?

I knew it was you on an alt as the way you talk is very toxic and no just like you have no solid facts but everyone know’s that gear through delves then going to 8’s is the better and quicker options for tanks and healers.

But your ignore must have worn off so i will refresh it now as i do not like people who say others are “crying” when they are expressing a view it is so very toxic not surprising coming from you.

Delves drop those crests as well, just at a ridiculous low amount.
So yes, theoretically, there’s no need to set foot in those M+ dungeons.

same goes for healer.
the only groups you get invited to are groups that you know will be so painful and most likely epic fail.

once it shows your main score it gets a little better and also being above ilvl 600.
when i started +4 keys on my alt i had 582 ilvl or something and it was tough to get invites.
in the end i played my own key and even had a 573 ilvl druid tank my +5 cot
skill > gear
but yes people are so terrible at that key range, the have to be carried. ot is problematic if you have 3 of those in your group though. then you are in for a fun ride

alting this season is awful.
gearing through delves is easy but it is heavily time gated.
you can only alt well if at the very beginning you just ran 2 delves every week for free hero gear incase you ever want to push that char higher

Also, people constantly, literally multiple threads a day, complain about exactly these keys taking forever and getting constantly bricked…So, if I´m a player interested in M+ that has the option of gearing through delves, delves remain the obviously superior choice.

Because in the same 60 minutes it takes find a group just to deplete a key, I can run 6 non-bountiful delves and get the same amount of crests as if I had timed the key, without dealing the constant flaming, whining, toxicity and general frustation.

Why would any person deal with M+ under those circumstances if they´re not already confined to a straitjacket?

It´s iust one more way that people don´t seem to understand how they’re actively killing their own favorite game mode with their constant hyperbole

To be honest, how often do you see toxicity? I got hundreds of pug dungeons done and i can count it on 1 hand.

Well, M+ is fun for some people

Personally, none, since I stopped pugging anything for good in BfA with very few and rare exceptions, and it was still the best decision I ever made.

But all I have to do is go into our discord and open any random stream of someone pugging M+, and chances are high that someone in the group will be conducting themselves, at best, like a respectless muppet. Usualla a dd flaming either the tank or the healer. I/d say on average there’s 66% chance of at least one person being a muppet, and 33% chance of actuall encountering 4 normal well-adjusted people at once.

Yes, and I have no problem with that.

But the incessant overblown drama is a massive red flag for many peope that would otherwise try, but aren´t going to “jump off a bridge into a meat grinder” (verbatim quote from someone in newcomer chat 2 days ago)… because that is what the total package currently outwardly displays as toward those that are not yet initiated, nothing but a constant ball of noting but strife and toxicity jsut to fail and get no tangible reward.

And nobody that hasn´t tried something yet will usually try it under those circumstances, just as I don´t have to try standing in front of a freight train to know it probably won´t be a comfortable experience. :beers:

And just to clarify, it´s not the complaints in and of themselves… it´s the hypertoxic and often antisocial manner in which they are usually presented, both here and on ohther media such as reddit :beers:

Well, when people would actually try they get surprised the game is different than what they read. What is talked about are excesses, not the norm. Nobody will tell about those 25 good runs they had this week, only about that 1 run where 1 player eated all the frontals and their key got bricked.

No debate from me on any of that, i agree 100%.

But that unfortunately doesn´t change the way it influences public perception, especially of for example some fresh summer child that might be browsing the forums or reddit because he´s interested in what ths M+ thing is that people are talking about, and finds nothing but thread after thread of vitriol and elitist toxicity towards anybody that isn’t >3k score in week 2

I can’t fix the forums.
And to be fair; on the forums people are allowed to talk about problems they occur in the game.
I am not really seeing people pointing to others they arent 3000 score, but ok.

3k was OFC mild hyperbole, but I don´t think either of us can resonably deny that “score shaming” and “you havent even done X” are very much common tactics employed by those that view themselves as superior in a pitiful attempt to shut down differing opinions.

I´m not saying it´s exclusive to M+, btw. PvP discussions for ex are also rife with it, but specifically those 2 scenarios, where people can reduce tehmselves and their discussion partner to an arbitrary number withoug questioning how that number came to be, are where it happens most frequently

Well, sometimes it is an argument. People make weird statements and then the problem is they are actually making so many other mistakes that statement 1 is useless.
That is not about score shaming or something. But when people don’t know what they talk about, they don’t know what they talk about…

People should ask more for constructive help instead of complaining.

I think that you have not linked your alt to your main in rio.

It shows your 1.6k dk to having no main, but you still have your +10 achievements in your armory (which most of the time means that this is your alt).

If you fix this, you will have way more people inviting you for alt runs.

I wouldn’t even be surprised if half of the cases are made-up or highly exaggerated. But yes, the negative bias we have is strong:).

Make your own key and you will probably do more or less the same, do not lie to me and that is fine, of course you gonna invite a higher item level over a lower item level.

You can easily trade down cests and at the same time already prep those slots with hero track items. It’s exactly how I gear my alts: get a quick set of champion gear in delves for 2-3 weeks and then go for hero track in M7 pref. 8. With the renown starter crests you’ve allrady got a good stock to also buy up if you don’t waste them on low ilvl gear.

I only pug and it definitely got a lot worse this season. Every bricked kesy (abou 30%) has ppl just leaving (which I also consider toxic) or actual flames in chat.

Bricked keys are normal instead of an exception and tanking “my way” (slowly but steady, waiting for stragglers) has become impossible due to dps pulling/leaving if I just pause to scratch my nose for a sec or simply the timers being too tight.

As dps it’s bearable but still a lot more wasted time due to tanks overpulling, healers being overwhelmed by random AOE dmg on dps, or dps failing mechanics due to a lack of dungeon knowledge or missing interrupts.
