Ok my specs to start,
Intel i7 9700k OC 5.1ghz
Gigabyte Z390 master motherboard f11o RGB Gk.
Msi Nvidia RTX 2070 Armor OC 2020mhz.
NVME SSD Samsung 970 evo plus 1tb.
Monitor asus 144mhz 2k 27".
ISP sky, download 65mb upload 16mb.

Ok so my problem is this, I log in to wow my ping is 15ms, fps 142fps all is good.
Now i join a raid or mythic plus, i now get input lag, it’s just not smooth notice most on instant cast spells but just playable. I am playing frost mage at moment. Fps drops to 142-120ish, ping home 15ms world 18ms. If I say joined a 40 man team for a world boss I now get 3-5 sec cast time well its just un playable. My ping is fine my fps drops to 46fps.
I’ve tried to put wow setting on 1 no change. I’ve tried no addons same thing. I’ve tried reinstalling windows tweaking lan and display setting with no luck. So what is going on, I raid often yet this input lag is a joke. It seems to me the more people I join or around me increases my input lag badly

It reminds me of the old tarren mill battles.

Also I have full ipv6, yet when I enable it in game, it says home and world is ipv6, yet after 30 min give or take it changes. Home is still ipv6 yet world is now ipv4, I restarting the game yet it keeps it at home ipv6 world ipv4.
I do a ipv6 test and it says I’m still full ipv6. Using here https://ipv6-test.com and here https://test-ipv6.com/

Hey there Magekin,

Thanks for providing all these information with your posts.

In your posts it seems that there is a node that may had been problematic with a significantly increased ping response and potential lost packets with the connection.

What I would advise you to do is firstly make sure that you read through the troubleshooting steps mentioned here. If you still experience significant network issues, please provide to us a WinMTR. Leave the WinMTR running for around 15-20 minutes and just play the game normally. Then we will be able to have a more accurate picture of where the issue may be.

Thanks for the reply I will do the WinMTR test on IP 185.60.112.158 as seems to be the problem one, tomorrow during raid.
Also is that a sky server blocking me or something server side there hiding 2.120.14.113?

Looking at the WinMTR you posted, it’s showing latency spikes of over a second just from your PC to your router, which is highly unusual. That suggests that you are either running over either WiFi, or via a powerline adapter, and there is interference happening. If you do have a direct cable connection to your router, however, it may be that the cable is faulty, or there is an issue with the router.

For the purposes of testing, we would advise using a direct cable connection to the router, or swapping the cable you’re currently using, and see if that helps your situation. If not, please reach out to your internet service provider and provide the WinMTR to their technical teams to take a look.

Thanks for the reply.
Since i started this post i have updated a lot of network gear, the sky hub was not good enough for my use, yet the problem are still there, I’ve updated the master socket, the cable from master socket to router, got a new Asus AX82U router, New cable from router to my pc. I am on a LAN connection with a static IP address and always have been.
I will post a new WinMTR and your see there is changes but its still not right. Like 1 host has no response so all packets are lost on route and the lag is there.

Another GM update would be good,
also the reason ive not linked 185.60.114.159 as the route is not getting blocked, so i did not link results. I can link all if requested and it’s all blizzard servers causing problems once my isp heads to France.
If I use a VPN I don’t have no dead servers playing wow is better in a way just routeing is longer, plus you try to block VPN’s. also 185,60,114,159 has less hops than the others with the dead server?

Yes I was, but if you look at the newest your see it’s just your server now…
As your see home has 0, to your server most 18ms then soon as it’s you 4000 and no responce. So how was that just me??
Now you need contact your server provider and sort routeing…

I find that last reply rude. If you read it all you would see, becouse as I said I update all home equipment, all cables. I dont use wifi. Had my isp check all is fine here. So at moment I am testing your network and I get problems your end. To then get no replys etc from you proving other wise. Far as I see it’s a blizzard server in France that then routes to a no responce to another blizzard server.

See this is just rude of blizzard. Fix your server that is not responding… I dont see why I need to use a VPN… and why you can not take responsibility…

ae1-br01-eqld5.as57976.net is a blizzard server that then points to a server that dont respond… and were my packets start to get lost…

Some of our servers ignore or deprioritise ping requests as a protection against DDoS attacks, so it’s not uncommon to see either poor or no results, and those aren’t indicative of a problem.

The fact that it works properly via a VPN suggests there is some throttling happening somewhere along the route, as VPNs typically use different routing to what your ISP defaults to, and is something you would need to reach out to them about.
