Latency Consistantly between 1000ms and 5000ms for extended periods on the day

Hi please look into this I am having a terrible experience, I was having these issues on Outland realm, so I moved realm, and i’m still experiencing this. It is ruining my experience as a paying customer. These issues have been getting worse over the past 7 days, with the original Latency issues being around 200-800ms consistent segments of the day. It can last for up to 2 hours.

Hey there,

Checking out those connection tests that you did, everything looks pretty solid. No packet loss and decent traceroutes. That might seem contradictory considering you are seeing some high latency from within World of Warcraft however there are many different things that can affect the latency, not just connection.

What I would do next is to go through the following points:

  • Ensure your Operating system is up to date
  • Ensure the latest drivers are installed (guide for this and the above here)
  • Disable background programs so that only the game is running
  • Clear up the game files by deleting the WTF, Cache and Interface folders from your main installation folder.

That should hopefully do the trick but if not, you can respond back to this thread with your system files and we can take a look. To provide the files, it’s better to paste them into a website like Pastebin rather than pasting the entire thing into your reply. You can provide a link to the file then using the </> symbol just above the text box :slight_smile:

thanks i’ve followed all steps so far, and i’m just re-arranging my UI again, i will report back in an hour or so to let you know if this resolved the issue :slight_smile:
