Lately the battle.net launcher has been acting so weird… for the past two weeks i have had so many connection issues, disconnects while logging in and right now again waiting for some patch that never installs. my internet connection is fine and every other game/launcher works, so no firewall issue either…
anyone else has been having the same problems? its really tedious having to restart the launcher 5 times or having to wait for over 20mins until it finally decides to work again…
Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and find “World of Warcraft Voice Proxy” and end task.
That fixed the installation of the new update for me hope it helps you
You are posting from a classic char, are you referring to classic or retail?
Scan & Repair may help. You can find this on the bnet app by clicking the cogwheel by the play button and chosing Scan and Repair.
If you don’t mind a bit of fiddling…
Go into the folders and copy the .exe files for both classic and current wow to your desktop.
Use the shortcut to start the game instead. I have been doing that since the 8.2.5 update the caused mass stuttering in some players.
You just have to check once or twice a week in the launcher for updates, then close it again afterwards.
Its a bit of a pain if you have more than one account for passwords, but bypassing the launcher is sometimes need.
