So is this how the game is supposed to be played now? It’s literally preferable to start a dungeon, and once it goes south to dip rather than finish it because the overtimed one is a bad sign.
Is there any way this can be fixed? Like Blizzard not logging overtimed/failed keys? Please
Some people like to cut their losses. Why stick around in a group that’s proven itself to not be worth your time, when you could spend that time/effort in another possibly better group?
If people leave there’s no effect on their rio. If they do finish it despite timing out then they’ll have a grey key on their list in game. And also some parties are just soul-crushing due to their incompetence.
Tons of people are being carried by their friends or guild that acts like their personal DBM announcer. Dispell this, kick that, stun now, get out of this, move here, beware of this.
When these failers with decent rio score end up in a pug they often lose face and blame the group, or have no idea how to handle an ohsh.it situation. Very seldom have I seen a good player leave, these are the ones that turns a key around to a win.
Yes some pugs are horrible and should be left, as they are in over their head.
But the thing is raider io keeps track of depleted keys, and having a depleted key on your rio page is like having a * about something that happened on a previous job like you got called into HR or something
A failed key is a failed key, that happens because of a lot of things, irl problems, disconnects, bugs, whatever, but a deplete only means one thing, that you are too bad to complete the dungeon correctly.
So it’s objectively better for your rio track record to get a fail than a deplete. This is what i was wondering if Blizzard could change in the core game, like depleted keys not getting counted or something.
In the in-game addon it only shows a depleted key if you completed the dungeon even though you timed out and most people look at the addon only. This way it can be manipulated to look better than it is. Just like any CV
No. Ok, I don’t look this deep to begin with, but if I did, I would be more wary of someone with no depletes.
If you have no depletes, you’re either:
a) Playing deep within your comfort zone
b) Getting boosted
c) Leaving keys that look to be a deplete
d) Some combination of the above
Exactly which of these is supposed to make me want to invite you? Your insecurity, your inexperience or your toxicity?
Well, I value my time and I wish to spend it playing this game in an enjoyable way. If the group is knowledgeable and plays well, but we are unlucky, or human error mistakes occur, something understandable, and we are about to fail but it’s close I’d stay. Even if we DO fail it but it is very close it is ok to stay if the group decides.
But in other cases such as:
Pepega ultima during the first few trash pulls - lots of failures, missed kicks, bad CC usage, bad CDs, waste of a lust and big cds without even finishing the packs
Wipe on a first boss tyrannical after all cds and lust is on cd with really questionable plays or slight pepega-ing beforehand
Messing up throughout all the dungeon and you having to cover for other people’s mistakes 24/7 then suddenly you dont for a split 10 seconds window and someone fails miserably, because you didnt cover a huge wipe comes and you get blamed
In a similar scenario as above, you get blamed for something. Good example is: You don’t use an immunity/personal CD to soak gold debuff on first boss in King’s Rest and you end up getting spanked a lot. The healer has no CDs available atm for any reason, you hoard your personal tho. You die, blame healer for low HPS on tyrannical 20 KR
Well, as I said before, I cherish my own time and want to spend it efficiently. If my group is like any of the above or more which I haven’t added, I don’t see a point in continuing to waste time.
Just because I have joined a key does by no means require me to stay until the end. Blizzard have let this be this way for the exact same reason. Why should you get punished by the system and the game for someone else’s mistakes? If you are in a full pepega group, why should you be required to waste your time with bonobos instead of just resuming your enjoyment?
Imagine also something like this : They add a penalty for leaving keys and stuff. There’s always a socially-isolated basement dweller somewhere out there in the world that just yearns and hungers for the opportunity to be able to troll and goof around in keys just to force people to leave and get penalized for it.
I mean, I get it. Some people believe that you ruin others’ joy when you leave their key. Sure, that happens. But I leave my own keys too if the group is a bunch of monkeys. Yeah, I do get the occasional “i wish u get cancer, i wish u die” but it is nothing hard to deal with
