Leaving Shuffles to save MMR good or bad?

why do players blame/flame each other for leaving solo shuffles at 0-5?

its designed right now like this:

so game tells you that if you don’t leave & take 0-6 ; 1-5 ; 2-4 = you will lose 50-80 rating + 100-120mmr buuuut if you leave before match ends you ONLY lose 150 rating & keep your MMR and then in next match if you win 4-2 ; 5-1 ; 6-0 you will get 80+ rating back and your mmr gets even crazier

so which one do you want? blue pill: -70 rating -120 mmr and in next match if you win 4-2 you get +0 or red pill: -150 rating & higher mmr and in worst case even at 1-5 you gain rating 10-20+ rating and if you win 4-2 ; 5-1 ; 6-0 even at 3-3 you gain even more & mmr keeps going up

its not players fault that they choose whats better benefit for them you should complain about it to be fixed and players should indeed lose mmr too like its in other brackets i dont think thats a hard one to fix also theres a bug that messes up queues on every weekly reset which is still not fixed till today :smiley:

and yeah i hear a lot of : i sat in queue for 2 hours well i sat in que for 2 hours too and if you dont deserve someone to leave i also dont deserve a troll lobby where psyfiend is totally invisible and healers run in middle and pressing their biggest defensives as first gcd :clown_face:

what do you guys think about this issue & how can they fix it?

On the one hand, it’s horrendous conduct and should absolutely not be a thing. You are actively encouraged to waste the time of five other people for entirely selfish reasons.

On the other hand, it’s such an easy fix on Blizzard’s part, and such an obvious oversight that I can’t take the situation seriously. All it has done is reaffirm my belief that people who sincerely asked for SoloQ were utterly delusional with regards to the quality of the experience that they were expecting.

Just focus on making MMR actually serve its intended purpose and then leave the bracket to fester like it’s destined to akin to similar SoloQ experiences; at least then Blizzard can’t so obviously be blamed for its failure.

Imagine if u play sports, and somone on the other team leaves, then the match ends and ur team gets a draw/loss on the rankings x) BLIZZARD!? WHY YOU DO THIS?!

How does one even figure that doing something that makes other players angry for their own personal gain is okey.

Not losing something just because you get a dc would be idealistic but thanks to that there are so many of “those kind of people” that ruins everything and say something in line with “that there are no rules against is so I did nothing wrong”.

It’s clearly not intended and Blizzard will most likely do something about it thanks to “those kind of people” that should get queued against each other where they could leave all they want.

Just to bad that decent players have to be in the same queue as “those kind of people”.

I agree with this. While extremely frustrating, afking benefits the player.

This is a simple trade-off : you sacrifice time and current valuables for objectively better games and conditional gains then. Except that it’s more like gambling and less like gaming.
That’s too bad for the 5 poor guys on the receiving end… and by the way their times and efforts are also gambled away by a complete stranger.

Honestly, this is a game, a simple game, just a game… not an experiment on human behavior, psychology or economic rationality. It does not feel right for a game to put you in such a position in my opinion. MMR is just a number, not a poker simulator.

In some other games, players are allowed one or two unpunished leaves per week.. because you can always come across a troll lobby or griefers. But then, that’s it. The punishments are harsh if you step past the limit.

yes exactly so why people flame each other for leaving when game itself puts players in the situation that leaving actually benefits anyone? why would leaving game benefit anyone at all lol how is it players fault they also spent time in queue and if they see that people are dying instantly in their team and not pressing cds then tryharding in enemy team ofc they will leave cuz same way you spent 2 hours in que i also sacrificed 2 hours of my time too right so go and blame system not the player whos doing whats benefiting them best i see lots of people malding at each other but they dont see it this way

Currently beyond pointles to play as a healer. I love healing but it feels so dumb to just have your good games voided because someone cant stand losing, and your bad games ‘count’ so you can only go down. It’s really the worst system for any sort of competition. Some other say indeed, it’s intentional design to leave because the punishment is worth it. How can this be fun for the other 5 in the lobby? This needs attention sooner than later.
