My leech at lvl 106 is healing me for a pathetic amount likr 50 etc which is so small my HP bar hardly increases but my pet is getting 2k heals all the time from it? he hits for 1.3k with KC then self heals 1.8k with leech?
Early on in the BfA alpha/beta and I think even after it went live, questions were asked on whether health returned to your pet from Leech was working correctly or not.
I recall it being determined that your pet was getting the returned health back on sort of a fixed timer(based on attacks performed within a set period).
This then results in what you saw where the health your pet receives is not only from Kill Command.
I’m not entirely sure if this actually was what you saw and if that’s even still how Leech works for your pet.
Best thing you can do is to check your combat log and see what the returned health comes from.
I do attacks and get on average 50 HP back per attack. my pets attacks such as KC return back around 2.8k every few seconds. my pet pulled like 10 mobs and survived with full health and i regened about 10% of my health the entire fight if that.
For me, with 15% leech(got Aspect of the Beast for another 5% leech), with an ilvl of 464:
(No crits)
Auto Shots return about 400 health
Cobra Shots return about 1.4k health
Considering my health pool of 449k unbuffed, the above isn’t much to speak of.
You said you were level 106? I would say that you getting around 50hp per attack or somewhere around that area, sounds about right. Considering the damage you deal per attack.
If we look at my pet instead:
Note that I was using Animal Companion, meaning 2 pets so damage of attacks is reduced by 40% in terms of pure values.
Anyway.
My pet saw health returns from leech between 1.7k - 8k.
If you run with just 1 pet out, you can add another 40% to those numbers.
= between 2.4k - 11.2k
It’s worth noting that if you solo a lot of things, then going with 2 pets is generally unfavorable for your main pet’s survivability as, at least if you go with a ferocity pet, it receives less health from leech returns than it would if you use just 1 pet.
Also worth noting is that, like with the bonus health from tenacity-pets, it’s the same with the leech if you go with a ferocity-pet.
Your second pet does not benefit from neither bonus health nor from leech granted by Predator’s Thirst.
Based on the above, again if you use 2 pets(Animal Companion-talent) then you’d do better to use a Tenacity-pet, specifically a Spirit Beast due to the Spirit Mend-ability which is an on-demand heal/HoT.
Sure, it depends much on what you do but, if you pull bigger packs or fight harder creatures where you have shorter periods when your pet takes more damage then it would very much be more beneficial for your pet’s survivability to rely on Mend Pet + Spirit Mend heals.
If you only run with 1 pet then it’s more debatable ofc.
Bonus note:
Some pets do ofc bring certain CDs acting as DRs(damage reducing effects). It’s always good to check out what pet’s come with such abilities and how good those are in terms of numbers. Then base your decisions on what type of fights you go up against.
Anyway, back to the above:
The reason you get so little health back when compared to your pet is because you only get health back from leech based on the damage you deal yourself.
The damage your pet deals, does not benefit you in terms of healing.
And vice versa. The damage you deal, does not heal your pet.

But my pet does not do 30x my damage to get that much healing difference? if my combra shot gives me 50 ish then why is my pet getting 2.?k back? kill command doesnt do crazy more damage than my attacks?
Apparently not.
Without seeing it for myself, there isn’t a whole lot more I could tell ya.
The leech value might not only come from Kill Command but it could also include auto attacks and other stuff.
2k health returned from Kill Command alone seems much for your level but again, I can’t say more as I’m not seeing it for myself.
what pet are you using? Also i think pets get increased healing anyway don’t they? Plus if you multi shot they do constant aoe.
