Hello. I have a really stressfull problem regarding legacy loot. I haven’t seen any official statements on it and there’s people who say it affects mounts and people who say it doesn’t. So when farming raids for a mount with a friend, does each of us have a 1% chance to drop the mount, or does the mount have a 1%chance to drop and only one of us gets it? Conclusion : is it better to farm a raid with a team of 5, or should each farm individually, in order for each of us to get the mount faster?
AFAIK the mount drop chance is individual and does not stack when grouped up. Meaning the mount can drop for one/some party members while others do not get it.
so, it can technically speaking, drop twice? like for me and my friend? or does it only drop once and then its 50% chance i get it or my friend gets it?
i would play it safe and solo the raids where possible.
i know (presume) that with personal loot, the boss rolls for each player to see what they can get. hence why sometimes, especially in dungeons, a boss might drop no loot for anyone, whereas in the past, a boss ALWAYS dropped loot. so technically, if the stars align, a not 100% mount like the 2nd boss of AtBT could drop for multiple people.
with legacy though, i understood it to mean that now, the boss gives ALL the loot to the one player, like it was in the old days. in the old days, if a mount dropped, only 1 was dropping per boss. i would think legacy loot works the same.
also another annoying thing which isn’t clarified anywhere officially i think, is that bonus roll coins dont work on WoD mount bosses, but DO work on MoP world bosses. not a clue about legion/bfa mount drops.
so yeah, i would suggest you each solo the raid for maximum mount chance, unless it is far too time consuming/not possible to solo it. anything pre legion should be soloable easily. Legion and BfA raids have not really been tested wholesale. while some bosses are killable in lfr, normal & heroic, they are not killable in mythic. obviously some top end players maybe able to kill certain bosses, but i personally can not do enough damage on the illidan stage of the NH gul’dan fight before im just insta killed. tbh, i hate to think of bosses like kil’jaden and eonar mythic.
