Legacy Raid Hotfixes

I got bored while doing crafting orders and wrote up some hotfixes that would make Legacy Content a lot more fun/bearable. Not just for mount collectors, but also taking in mind Transmog & Pets.

Changes like these would be an easy W for the game, and although I know things like this take time and effort to implement, I also feel like the collection part of WoW is often overlooked and ignored. (A clear example being how long we had to wait for a Garrosh Skip, and it only being added last month…)

Some of the points here have been asked for for years, are obvious problems, or just small changes that I personally think would be neat to have.

Let me know your thoughts, or what you would add to this!

(Keep in mind that certain mechanics from BFA & SL would become obsolete once Legacy Damage is added, so stuff like Painsmith would become super easy just because of Legacy Damage.)

Hotfixes for Legacy Raids

Classic

Molten Core

  • The Core Hounds in Magmadar & Lucifrons room will now stay dead once killed.
  • Ragnaros is finally ready to emerge and will now be spawnwable without having to kill all other bosses in the raid.

Blackwing Lair

  • The supression room will no longer affect players above level 45.

Temple of Ahn’Qiraj

  • Added a door to go straight to C’Thun’s chamber.
  • Reduced the aggro radius of Obsidian Enemies to the normal value.
  • Qiraji Weapon & Gear Armaments will now be tradeable to players who assisted in the kill.
  • Viscidus now no longer requires frost damage to kill and will now be oneshot-able by higher level players.
  • You will no longer be instantly dismounted upon being attacked while riding the Qiraji Battle Tank mounts.

The Burning Crusade

Karazhan

  • Added a skip for the Chess Event at the cost of missing out on its rewards. Talk to the Shade of Medivh to skip the event.

Serpentshrine Cavern

  • Lady Vashj will now no longer expect you to do her four totems, and will be killable right away.

The Eye

  • Fixed an issue with Kael’thas that made him not enter combat right after his advisors were slain.

Black Temple

  • Added a skip to Illidan Stormrage. Talk to the Broken at the start of the raid to teleport there.

Sunwell Plateau

  • Added a skip to M’uru. Talk to Kalecgos after defeating him to teleport there.

Wrath of the Lich King

Naxxramas

  • Fixed an issue where the Four Horsemen would reset if all four were killed at the same time.
  • Gothik the Harvesters encounter has been reduced to a one minute duration, down from five.
  • Kel’thuzad is tired of waiting and will now face you himself directly.

Ulduar

  • Added a button to mess with Mimiron’s creations, spawning the three-part boss in one go.
  • Added a skip to Yogg’saron. Talk to the mage at the start of the raid to teleport there.

Icecrown Citadel

  • Valithria Dreamwalker can now be skipped by classes that have no healing spells. Talk to her to skip the encounter. You may still loot the rewards from this encounter.
  • Added a skip to the Lich King. Talk to your faction leader at the start of the raid to teleport there.

Cataclysm

Blackwing Descent

  • You can now taunt Nefarian, allowing access to the final boss fight immediately without having to kill other bosses.

Firelands

  • The portal to Majordomo will now always be available.

Dragon Soul

  • Added a skip to Madness of Deathwing. Talk to the red dragon after defeating Morchok to teleport to the Maelstrom.
  • Spine of Deathwing will no longer roll when you’re running the instance solo.
  • A new NPC has been added to the start of the instance that will let you disable roleplay dialogue if you have already completed this raid once.

Mists of Pandaria

World Bosses

  • Ordos can now also be reached by players without the Legendary Cloaks.

Mogu’shan Vaults

  • Added a skip to Elegon. Speak with Lorewalker Cho at the start to teleport there.
  • The bat riders flying around Gara’jal’s boss room will now fly slightly lower to make them easier to aggro.

Throne of Thunder

  • Added a skip to Ji-Kun and Lei Shen. Speak with the Pandaren at the start to teleport there.
  • Reduced the effects of the wind before Horridon’s boss room.

Siege of Orgrimmar

  • Added a skip to Korkron Dark Shamans. Interact with the scroll at the start of the instance to teleport there.
  • You can now skip the roleplay dialogue between Thrall and Garrosh by speaking to Garrosh and taunting him.

Warlords of Draenor

Highmaul

  • Added a skip to Imperator Mar’gok. Speak with the Highmaul Ogre at the start to teleport there.

Blackrock Foundry

  • The skip quest in Blackrock Foundry can now be accepted from a new NPC at the start of the raid, and will now only require one Blackhand kill.
  • Fixed an issue where Blackhand’s corpse would float in mid-air if he was killed while phasing platforms.

Hellfire Citadel

  • The skip quest in Hellfire Citadel can now be accepted from Khadgar at the start of the raid, and will now only require one Mannoroth kill, down from 4.
  • Fixed an issue that teleported you back to the Twisting Nether after defeating Archimonde.

Legion

World Bosses

  • All Legion World Bosses will be up at once from now on.

Emerald Nightmare

  • Xavius will now no longer wait for his minions to deal with you, and face you himself right away.

The Nighthold

  • Thalyssra will now let you disable roleplay dialogue if you have already completed this raid once.
  • Gul’dan will now be able to drop more than one Fiendish Hellfire Core.

Tomb of Sargeras

  • Kil’jaeden’s Rupturing Singularity will no longer knock back players above level 60.

Antorus, the Burning Throne

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Garothi Worldbreaker to become unattackable for a short period of time if both cannons were killed at the same time.
  • The Felhounds of Sargeras will now no longer leave their boss room.
  • Eonar’s encounter can now be skipped by players who are solo. Speak to Eonar to skip the encounter and obtain the rewards right away.
  • Both the skip quests in Antorus are now combined into one, letting you skip to Imonar and the Burning Throne after killing Argus once.
  • Argus will now be able to drop more than one Shackled Ur’zul.

Battle for Azeroth

General

  • Legacy Damage has been added to BFA Raids & Dungeons, making them significantly easier to do.

World Bosses

  • All BFA World Bosses will be up at once from now on.

Uldir

  • Mythrax will no longer attempt to Mind Control players in a group of 5 players or less.
  • G’huun will crawl out of his nest and face you right away if you are solo.

Battle of Dazar’alor

  • Opulence will no longer have increased attributes if pulled without doing the golem gauntlet.
  • Akunda’s Aspect will no longer cast Mind Wipe.
  • Gonk’s Aspect will no longer cast Crawling Hex.
  • Conclave of the Chosen will no longer receive Loa’s Pact when close together if you are solo.
  • King Rastakhan will no longer cast Zombie Dust Totem.
  • High Tinker Mekkatorque will no longer cast World Enlarger if you are solo.
  • Lady Jaina Proudmoore’s Frozen Solid will no longer affect players above level 60.
  • Lady Jaina Proudmoore will now be able to drop more than one Glacial Tidestorm.

The Eternal Palace

  • The skip quest now only requires one Za’qul kill.
  • Pashmar’s Touch will no longer become Fanatical Zeal.
  • The Queen’s Court will no longer receive Seperation of Power when close together if you are solo.
  • Queen Azshara’s Ancient Wards no longer need to be drained, and will be permanently disabled.
  • Queen Azshara will no longer cast Beckon.
  • Tidemistresses no longer have Crystalline Shield.

Ny’alotha, the Waking City

  • The skip quest now only requires one Carapace kill.
  • The Prophet Skitra’s correct illusion will now be more obvious.
  • Carapace of N’Zoth and N’Zoth the Corruptor will no longer Mind Control you when you do not have the Legendary Cloak equipped.
  • Fixed an issue that causes N’Zoth the Corruptor to reset if all players were in the Mind of N’Zoth.
  • Players can enter the Mind of N’Zoth multiple times per encounter on Mythic Difficulty.
  • N’Zoth the Corruptor will now be able to drop more than one Ny’alotha Allseer.

Shadowlands

General

  • Legacy Damage has been added to SL Raids & Dungeons, making them significantly easier to do.

World Bosses

  • All SL World Bosses will be up at once from now on.

Castle Nathria

  • The skip quest now only requires one Sludgefist kill.
  • Soul Infusion no longer has a cooldown during the Sun King’s Salvation encounter.
  • The Council of Blood will no longer pressure you to perform the Danse Macabre.

Sanctum of Domination

  • The skip quest now only requires one Kel’thuzad kill.
  • Remnant of Ner’zhul’s Malevolence will no longer knock players back.
  • Painsmith Raznal’s Spiked Balls no longer stun players.
  • Fatescribe Roh-Kalo will no longer perform Realign Fate when solo.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Kel’thuzad to reset if all players are in Kel’thuzad’s Phylactery.
  • Sylvanas will now be able to drop more than one Vengeance.

Sepulcher of the First Ones

  • The skip quest now only requires one Anduin kill.
  • The Jailer will now be able to drop more than one Zereth Overseer.

There really should be portals to the entrance on every single Raid/Dungeon.
(on the last boss room in case that wasn’t clear)

Nighthold still haunts me, 3 runs per character, 20x a week…

Especially when you have memorized the RP dialogue… It needs a damn rp skip…

What’s the point? Most boss skips exist because final bosses have mounts, legendaries or other rare drops (Tusks of Mannoroth).

Dunno how I feel about that. It’s like a fun minigame to me. I know some classes struggle with it but all you really need is an old frost/elemental enchant and a crate of puppies.

You can already one shot her and skip her mechanics. If you’re not high enough level for that, well tough luck.

No. You can already skip her to complete the raid. If you want the rewards get the Heart of Azeroth with Azerite Essences or just buy some bandages.

Increase the time required to initiate a roll significantly? Yes. Disable rolls completely? No.
Also I’d say reduce the number of corrupted bloods needed to make that NPC explode. What currently happens is that you’re just waiting an unreasonable amount of time for enough of them to spawn.

No. It was a reward for completing the raid on mythic during Legion. It wasn’t removed but there is no reason for him to drop more than one. If you can’t solo the raid then tough luck.

There is only one problem with your rant. It has nothing to do with the message you quoted. He hasn’t asked for a portal from the entrance to the last boss to skip the raid. He has asked for a portal from the last boss room to the entrance to EXIT the raid.

To be honest all I really require is to be able to solo comfortably any and all old content. I understand that some mounts, titles and achievements will be unavailable because I couldn’t do them when there were relevant. That is fair, people who achieved this are amply rewarded for their effort and achievement.

However I do think after 4 years that content should be open to all, and made easy to solo, I don’t think any player has the right to lock content up just because people didn’t achieve it when it was current. We don’t need to validate you, you got rewarded at the time we just want access to the content and mogs. You can also get new rewards with Time Walking and doing the dungeons again as if they are relevant. I’d say your needs are met.

We can’t even say mounts , because sometimes the drop rate is insane and it could be counted an achievement in tenacity for the people who continually cycles these raids.

In an ideal world players wouldn’t mind other players accessing old content easier, and I mean that for everything, rep grinds, flying, the whole shebang. The subscription is the same for us all.

Waiting I get, time relevant rewards I get, I am happy to wait, I am happy to do without some rewards as I was not able to do them when it was current…

but locked out altogether, heck no…I consider nearly half a decade to easily access BFA a step too far, and I hope the next time that we have an expansion SL content is not beyond my reach…

You can skip to Yogg if you keep a lockout on another character and use LFG to group up. I do this every week.

Yeah, give them an action button that heals or a bandage or something.

Same as with Yogg, keep a lockout on an alt.

Been running Dragon Soul for years to get that Blazing Drake, seen 3 or 4 Handmaidens.
So yeah, getting to the stage where I’d quite like this.

These mechanics should be amended. Extend the timer on clicking the things in Eonar by a lot or something (not really sure how this fight works, my friend and I tried it one time and he said things despawned just as he got to them and he would be a lot faster than I would be).

Skips do seem to be in the game now since at least Legion so I guess adding some more would be good.

I like these, but most of all I would just like them to apply the formula they used to have. Legacy-buff to all raids when you’re 11+ levels above it (or, like it used to work before the level-squish).

Why not? Its annoying if you want a mog from Cthun or that you have to run the entire raid to get to Merithra, Arygos and Caelestrasz.

A lot of those are nerfed. And in some cases, even if you get the frost damage done, you can’t get enough auto attacks in.

Bandages no longer work. Having to unlock Azerite Essences to kill a boss is annoying, just like needing the legendary cloak for N’Zoth.

Again, why not? (Take in mind this list is not mount farming exclusive…

Which was… 7 years ago. Yeah no need to keep it this rare. Plus, it’s less about being able to solo the raid, and more about getting punished for running it with friends or in a group. How neat would it be if you could run 20 man groups for this without reducing your individual chance of getting the mount?

Yes which is… not ideal and unclear if it is intended. It’s better to have it available without extra steps. Same counts for every lockout sharing raid.
